Topic: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

As we all know the announcement was made in Birmingham about the RAH date. I have been in contact with Rachel who gave me the official OK to confirm here. It was hoped to be announced to the Street Team first as we like to be the place for all the up to date information.

I did ask questions about onsale dates and the possibility for a section reserved for Streat Teamers. I hope to get the onsale date information today. As for the special reserved section that may or may not be possible. That question may not be answered by the onsale date. It would be advised to purchase tickets as soon as they become available.

I did inquire about those traveling internationally being assured a seat. Again that is in the works. As far as any organization of hotels or travel arrangements being made through the Street Team or through Joe's management is highly unlikely.

Again. We are trying to get you info for an onsale date. I requested that information sent to the Street Team first if possible. When the date is announced if you are planning on attending buy your tickets as soon as possible.

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Phil posted in another thread. The on sale date is Novemeber 21st. The Street Team Blast will be coming out soon.

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

At what time?! big_smile

Thanks for the info Jim ... I guess we will all have to check the forum every 5 minutes now to not miss some important bit of information. wink

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Some shows at The Royal Albert Hall have a standing floor area in front of stage , so i guess it's the preference of the artist to apply this if possible , that would make a standing ticket useful for a first come first in line on the night of the show , where that would cut out the worry of say travelling across the atlantic and sitting right at the back , but details will hopefully become available before the 21st , when we all scramble to the phones ...... cos worse case scenario that the bulk of these tickets get snapped up by corporate and ticket agencies ( cos i believe RAH is only around 3500 capacity ) and for Joe's Career Pinnacle his loyal true fans will miss or at best be priced out into buying black market or seated at back .... best of luck to management for a happy resolution to this Prestigeous Joe Concert

PS ........ If it was being filmed live @ The Albert Hall you would want true Joe fans on this forum enjoying this his defining show with him after 20 years hard work rather than some rich upper class on a night out who might not apprecciate the honour of being there ..... just a thought

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

I hear you Michael. I went to a Joe show in Buffalo at the Tralf Music Hall. They have a policy to seat "members" of that establishment before the general public.
Joe, Bogie, Carmine and Rick put on a great show and the "stiffs" up front made a little polite applause after each number, while Joe's real fans, seated way in the back were whooping it up. The Tralf is primarily a Jazz club although they do bring in a wide variety of acts. I don't think those folks up front really appreciated what they were being treated to. As for me, I'll never ever go back there again unless they change their seating policy.

Here's hoping all of us Bonafans who wish to attend RAH can get some decent seating!

I'll be standing in the virtual line on the 21st...good seats (or even better, standing up front) would be a wonderful belated birthday present.
It would suck to travel 4000 miles just to sit in the nosebleeds...but as I said before: "I'll be there come hell or high water (everywhere)"!

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

I'm already planning to be in Amsterdam for Queen's day, the end of April. Then the RAH, the "mini tour", Joe's 32nd Birthday, and back to Amsterdam for my....ouch....60th Birthday!! I'm with you Bill...I hope we don't have to become "Ugly Americans"..lol...Cathy

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Yeh, it's kinda worrying really. I do hope management can lever those preferential seats / areas away from the corporate buyers. It would be excellent if they could batch "allocate" a bock to the street team organisers, so that the many street teamers who can go, especially from America can get first bite of a limited number of tickets. Let the management team decide how best to allocate those - maybe on number postings perhaps (damn, wish I'd been more prolific)

Joe mentioned that the show was to be a video feature. Seems risky to plan it for just one night! I know that Joe can do it, but an extra date would would give more choice of shots, it would have to be on Sunday 3rd as the 5th is already gone. Joe you will sell out two nights - go for it!

Gee Cathy maybe I'll see ya in A'dam. Planning to be there from 23-25 April to get primed for a whisky event in Limburg, Germany that weekend. Then home for a few days and hopefully back across the pond for one KILLER concert! smile

Anyone been to a gig at the RAH where there has been a standing area? How does it work? Michael?

Is it segregated? Can the audience in the seated part of the arena join the standing area?

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

A show on Sunday 3rd and one on Monday 4th would be pretty cool - i'd definitely be up for both

Maybe one i'd stand, one i'd sit to get the perspective (assuming I can get in at all that is)

Joe would sell out both no probs

Just hope there's plenty of merch - Its really great when you've got allocated seating as you can check out the merch without losing your place (usually i'm hanging onto the stage (or the barrier about 8 feet from the stage at the NEC sad))

"Stellar" a word used by Joe Bonamassa (also apt as a description of the man himself cool)
