Topic: Hiwatt?!

Saw Joe last night and along with Marshalls and Two-Rock heads, there was a Hiwatt head to the left.  That made me smile.  I've been loving my own Marshall + Hiwatt combination for a few years (my Marshall is a recent addition), and was wondering about Joe's opinion of the Hiwatt.  They really benefit from sticking old Mullards as the first 2 preamp tubes.  And, hearing that Joe is using EV speakers, well, Hiwatts LOVE EV speakers !!

Re: Hiwatt?!

Just found out that Joe's new Hiwatt was probably purchased at a music store near me.
Seems Joe has picked up some nice stuff while in my area.
The man does have good taste.

I'd really love to know what Joe thinks about the Hiwatt.

Joe?

Anyway, Joe's is a "4-holer" Hiwatt, so it'll have some nice headroom.
My Hiwatt is a "2-holer" OL model which added 1 more gain stage to the circuit.
That amp can reach JCM800 overdrive, but has less fizzle and more note distinction.
Either way, they have a tone unto themselves.
