Great show! Another mesmerizing performance by Joe and crew. Congrats to all! I really like the Joe Bonamassa Les Paul!

Joe didn't stray too far from his setlist at the Pageant show. I'm looking forward to seeing you back at the Pageant, Joe. I don't believe the way the room is set up at the Voodoo Lounge it is conducive to getting a good house mix. From where we sat, the vocals were too far down in the mix, the guitar could have been brought up just a little. The bass (which started out fine) was not definitive (though Carmine pulled out a shiny red model that was more definitive than the others) and the keyboard was also way too low.

Bogey's drums started out fine (as well as Carmines' bass) then adjustments were made and the snare lost it's snap and the hi-hats were virtually gone.

I blame it on the room; it had to be hard to adjust the PA to sound good everywhere. I'm sure that there were places in the room where everything was balanced, but not where we were. I would also imagine it could have been difficult to play on that stage. Enough on that subject.

I was thrilled to see such a great turn-out. I applaud Rhonda and the street team for their efforts. The crowd was very much in to this as well. Their response to Joe was fantastic.

Sorry I missed you Rhonda. But wasn't it great that there were that many people to get lost in?

I was better, but I got over it...........

Re: St. Louis 10/02/2008

It was a great show, one of the most unique stages to try and photograph, considering Joe was 9 feet up in the air with the bar directly below at his feet. At least the bartenders were not doing their impression of the movie "Cocktail"!

The show was a COMPLETE SELL OUT! I was told that they actually sold more tickets than they were supposed to!  A big thank you to the couple of Street Teamers that helped get the flyers and posters up!

Although the balcony was not officially open, there were a number of Diamond Club VIP's that came out to check Joe out. I spoke with several who had never heard of Joe, passed out some Street Team Cards.....Dean, I am all out! lol and even ran back down to the main floor for a guy on the balcony who did not have a ticket to the show, but spoke of wanting to get Joe's CD at a local store. I told him that was not necessary as they were on sale at the merch. table. He told me that his wife was going to be mad at him because he did not bring her with him that night. Before the night was over he commented that he wished he had heard of Joe sooner and thanked me for getting the CD for him.....then he turned to me, gave me a hug and a kiss!!.......I was not expecting that..........oh well......all in a days work of promoting Joe! (He sort of reminded me of George Kastanza from Seinfeld)

I will get photos posted within the next couple of days. smile
