Topic: Unbelievable Story.....

I just heard this story on WKLH radio in Milwaukee.....

Most of us know about the tragic story of the horrible train wreck that happened in California a short time ago. Apparantly at the time of the accident, it appeared that one of the victims was able to place calls using his cell phone to various members of his family at several different numbers. The various people received a total of 35 phone calls in total over a period of time. When answered, all the people heard was static and when they called the number back, they were sent to voice mail. This lead rescue teams on a frantic search to find this man alive. They traced one of the calls and discovered that the calls were orginating from the first car in the accident. Hoping to actually find someone alive, they finally found the man's body. It appears from all indications that this man died on impact and that there was no way that he could have made any of these cell calls.

A force beyond this Earth? I guess we all have our own answer.

Re: Unbelievable Story.....

Roy, the sad thing is that this train wreck was totally preventable. It appears that the engineer was distracted by texting on his cell phone or pda.  He paid the ultimate price with 24 innocents. There was an idiot here in Rochester NY a few weeks ago who hit two teenage girls riding their bikes because he also was texting while driving.
Put him in the slammer and throw away the key I say.

Re: Unbelievable Story.....

I totally agree RIC! I think we all have experienced drivers in their cars talking, playing and texting with their cell phones while trying to operate a car with one hand. How many more people will be killed before the majority of people who don't perform this dangerous act while driving, finally say enough? Even with hands free, we know they are paying more attention to their conversation than to operating the car. Heck, why don't we just let surgeons talk and text on their cell phones while performing operations?

Ridiculous!!
