What's yours? Mine's gotta be the Gigliotti.
I like that gold sparkle strat alot. It has a great tone. I think Joe said in the Tonequest interview that it was a Custom Shop body with a vintage strat neck and pickups.
Also I think his Clapton strats always sounded amazing.
I saw a picture of Joe playing a Gigliotti that appeared to be white, blue, and silver. I think that may end up being my favorite if I ever get a better look at it! However, I like 'em all.
it has to be the Strat for me
The one he's playing .......
<G>
Yes, the gold strat.
Wow...great question! I like all of 'em, but if I had to pick, it would be the gold strat.
Some of that probably has to do with the songs he plays on that... a lot of my favorites.
The gold Strat is one of my favs (Joe......), it has a certain power that cannot be replicated - I also have a soft spot in my heart for the red Les Paul that is used in the opening few songs of the ANDY Live DVD. I also like the Les Paul that replaced the red one in the rotation.
The Gigliotti's are spectacular as well.

Hi- I really like the Trans Amber Les Paul he uses on the Rockpalast DVD, and I think I may have it's blood brother as mine seems to have nearly the same flamey top... looking forward to seeing Joe in Frome this September...(UK)
I would have to say it's the vintage white esquire that he seems to leave at home these days..
I absolutely love his vintage white esquire... but I also like his gold strat a lot (extrememly good tone). Also, gotta love the Gigliottis. So I guess that means pretty much all of them.
But, if I had to pick one it would definetly be the white esquire or gold strat.
Im with Melissa on this one. the white, blue, and silver Gigliotti. i saw that picture too.
peace,
sarah
I always will be a strat-girl..... but i like the sound Joe gets out of any guitar! It's his special way of playing this instrument.
I'm gonna have to say his Les Paul's. The Murphy R8 is rad and his newer R9 looks amazing under stage lights. Not to mention the tone he gets with the lesters is fat through his Jubilee and Budda amps.
This message has a point about fav guitars...just read on...
My husband and I saw Joe open at "Hot Summer Nights" in Seattle (August 2005) for BB King (Kenny Wayne Shepard was after Joe but he fizzled in the heat of Joe). We had never seen or heard of Joe Bonamassa before and we were literally blown away! His live "Blues Deluxe" was HOT and definately got our attention! After that we bought all of Joe's CDs and we now play Joe at our house daily.
In December 2005, a friend called to tell us that Joe was playing at Jazz Alley in Seattle on December 7, 2005. We went to the event and we were doubly blown away. Up close and personal, Joe is beyond fantastic. We sat right in front of the microphone at this venue and heard every note up close and personal. We even got the set list which was 6" from my left hand, had Joe autograph it, the whole nine yards! What a very humble and personable guy Joe is in person too. The point: The Gigliotti guitars were so hot, as was the Chandler slide guitar, that I turned to my husband when Joe was playing each one of them and said, "You have got to get that guitar!" As it stands today, we have the Gigliotti GT (different color though--long story), a Gigliotti GS on order, and we have the Chandler slide. OMG! The sound Joe gets out of these guitars in phenomenal!
We have personally spoken to the Gigliotti guitar creator, Patrick Gigliotti, as we ordered a custom Gigliotti GS. Check out their new headstock at www.gigliottiguitars.com. It's a Joe Bonamassa signature series guitar and Patrick will make you one exactly like Joe's! They now come with a plate on the back of the neck that says "Custom Made for so-and-so" with the serial number on it. According to Joe's website, he is coming back to Jazz Alley in December 2006 (4 nights, 2 shows per night) and we are going and taking our new Gigliotti GS (Joe's signature series guitar) and have Joe personally sign it.
Okay, can you tell my hubby and I are total Joe fans? I play the keyboards and my husband plays guitar. We have a blast and enjoy doing this together and seeing greats like Joe play and inspire us to keep on keepin' on!
The '64 Airline.
It is a tough choice.
I guess I will have to choose the Gigliotti GT. I was able to meet the maker at the Jazz Alley shows and he is a true gentleman with some fine tastes in music.
I think it is awesome that Joe travels with such a well stocked guitar rack(s), and has a different axe for each style of tune.
Great creativity.
