Re: Question to you Les Paul players
I don't remember what this thread was originally about but I'm kicking myself for not getting a 50's neck on my Standard...the 60's neck doesn't bug me but in my opinion the bigger the neck the better!

I used to play strats and yet the heel doesn't present any issues.
Not that I'm an experienced guitar player (I'm not) but consider a solid body Rickenbacker. They don't have a neck joint as the neck runs right through the body to the tail. The 620 has a very fast neck, the 650 is a bit meatier. Both are priced around what you would pay for a Gibson LP studio. 620 has single coil pups, the 650 has 'buckers.
BTW I do have 2 LPs (1 Gibson, 1 Epi), neck joint (or heel) really doesn't bother me.
If you like les paul tone and the 339 you need to look at the cs 336 or cs 356, the 339 is a true hollow body, the 336/356 are the same small 335 style routed out of a single solid piece of mahognany, a les paul feel/drive with the sustain and shimmer of a 335 really awesome guitars. Everytime I've seen Lifeson lately he's playing PRS (also a great guitars), Haynes 58 RI is really cool with great electronics. Toys, toys, toys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know both Joe and Alex Lifeson(2 of my heros) are now Les Paul players ... I'm really loving hearing Les Paul players/tones lately(Warren Heynes etc) .... I have a bad case of GAS(Guitar Aquisition Syndrome) .
The other alternative is a ES-339, Size of a Les Paul .. tone of a 335 .... but will I still have GAS for a les Paul ...... oooohhh I wish I was rich.. I'd get both.
