Blues Singer Fights to Survive Pancreatic Cancer: Benefit Concert June
8 at Biscuits & Blues in San Francisco

Encinitas, California-based blues singer CANDYE KANE
(www.candyekane.com/index.html) underwent a very complicated surgery
for pancreatic cancer last month. Her San Francisco friends are
gathering at Biscuits and Blues in San Francisco on Sunday June 8 with
a fundraiser starring Tommy Castro, Rick Estrin & the Night Cats
(formerly Little Charlie & the Night Cats) with Chris ?the kid?
Andersen, Miss Carmen Getit & Steve Lucky of the Rhumba Bums,
guitarist Laura Chavez, and many special guests, to raise money for
medical bills and time off from work.

CANDYE KANE?s April surgery included a procedure called ?The Whipple,?
which took her under the knife for nearly nine hours. Kane awoke happy
to be alive and reports that she is starting to heal. That?s good news
for longtime fans who know how positive Kane is about life! She is
determined to heal properly then get back to singing the blues across
America and Europe soon.

The bigger-than-life CANDYE KANE is an award-winning, powerful singer
and entertainer. She caught the eye of CBS/Epic Records more than
twenty years ago who sought to groom her as a country star. When they
learned of her controversial past which included a brief stint in the
adult entertainment industry, she was dropped. Lucky for us, Kane
went on to discover the blues and found a welcome home there,
recording award-winning records with US and European labels. Kane?s
long and colorful career includes a stint on The Gong Show, modeling,
acting as spokesperson for women?s and gay/lesbian rights, and being
an activist in a variety of social causes. Singer, songwriter, and
single mother of two, Kane wants to inspire other cancer patient and
show that it can be conquered with style!

The high cost of health care affects everyone and is particularly
difficult for musicians and artists. And as with many self-employed
people, Kane doesn?t have health insurance and has had to cancel
months of shows in order to heal. Candye has many friends in the San
Francisco Bay Area?s music community, including Tommy Castro, Rick
Estrin, Carmen Getit, Laura Chavez and Deb Lubin who are organizing
this very special fundraiser for her. Biscuits & Blues owner Steven
Suen has graciously donated the use of his world-famous blues club for
the cause. Live auctions during the evening include "Dinner with
Tommy Castro" - what a brave guy!, and "Fantasy Boobs" signed by
famous blues artists like Pinetop Perkins, plus many great raffle
items. It's not too late to donate goods or services for the raffles!

I am very sad to hear this news - we saw her twice in Wausau, WI at the bluesfest and
she is extremely entertaining.  We wish you all the best Candye.

The top amount of bloom affliction affects anybody and is particularly

difficult for musicians and artists. And as with abounding self-employed

people, Kane doesn?t accept bloom allowance and has had to cancel

months of shows in adjustment to heal.

The high cost of health care affects everyone, because some people can't afford to buy health insurance...
