Re: Back Door Slam in Detroit tonight!

ALL I can say is WOW.

I got some really good pictures, and got to talk to them for a bit. They played a small venue, probably 100 or so people. They were laughing and having a good time on stage.

It didn't dazzle me like Joe did the first time I saw Joe, but that could be an apples and oranges conversation.  A lot of the people at the show found out about them from looking up SRV videos on youtube.  So I INSTANTLY told them about Joe. I took a coworker to the show, who plays drums and is into Aerosmith - so now he's a JB and BDS fan!

As soon as I get my pics on Flickr I will repost.

OH - there were two Triskelion T-shirts left, and I got one of em!

PLUS - I got a speeding ticket on the way home. One of those times you'd wished there was MORE traffic. I'm not used to having clear roads!

NFL DRAFT this weekend baby!  oWWWW!

Re: Back Door Slam in Detroit tonight!

Nic,

Glad you had a slammin' good time. I got the last XL shirt with the Tristle as the lads call it. The first time I saw them with Shred back in Nov. a fellow Manxster came to the show with the Triskelion flag and you should have seen the grin on their faces when he pulled it out. It immediately was hung as a back drop on stage. They are fiercely proud of their heritage. They may be the biggest thing from the Isle since the manx cat.

Re: Back Door Slam in Detroit tonight!

Oh Nic......the boys are getting quite a nice little collection of 'WOWS' from us, aren't they!!??

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed yourself.  Glad to hear the lads were enjoying THEMSELVES too.  Glad to hear that you had a few more people in the audience than Roy did.  Glad that you got your cool T.  I'm anxious to pick up another one.

Slow down on the roads my friend, but GET those pictures posted in a hurry!!!  (That's supposed to be funny.....coming from ME......the slowpoke).

Also, my sister was told by one of the guys that The Isle of Man is a country all to itself with it's own Parliament.

To anyone who knows: I understand the Isle of Man has a large degree of independence, but is there some sort of affiliation with the UK or are they completely independent?  The trivia side of my head just has to know this.

Edited to add . . . I guess I found my own answer, assuming Wikipedia is right.  Somehow it didn't occur to me to check there until after I posted.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_man

In any case, I'm excited to see these 3 fine young men and great musicians hopefully sometime soon.

Helllllooooo Mr. Dude,

Hadn't you read my post, immediately above yours?  There, you would have found the Wiki-article in question so that you could have calmed your trivia side EVEN sooner......AND, I wanted to make sure that you saw the link about the TRISKELION TOO...... it's all very interesting, isn't it?  I promise to do my best to share information, and not to lead anyone astray (unless, of course, I'm spinning a yarn).  smile

Meanwhile, I'm excited for you to see BDS too Mr. Dude!  Where do you live?

Wow, Libby, I must be as blind as a bat.  Nice to make your cyber-acquaintance.  I hail from Northern Iowa, in the vicinity of the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake.  My name is actually John, but I saw The Big Lebowski about the time I chose a username and took a liking to Jeff Bridges' character, the dude.  But you can call me anything but late for supper.  big_smile

Pleased to meet you as well, John.  My hubby was born in Storm Lake.  Many good things come from Iowa, like our own dear Patty.  You have a JOE show coming up now, don't you?  Yippee!  That blues festival in July looks like fun too.

Re: Back Door Slam in Detroit tonight!

It was so great. I was less than a yard away from Adam, so taking pictures of him was almost too close. But I could take photos of Davy and Ross from Adam's side of the stage and they looked great. I was right up close to the stage, and it was only about 24" off the ground.
