Topic: A Recording by me...

Well I got a little bit of time a couple of weeks back and decided (at 4am) to record somet..
So I did thought I'd share it for some criticising / tips considering how many musicians hang around here thought it might be a good idea :x

Its nothing original although I do have some lined up soon just waiting on a mic (Broke my other). Its my favourite song Shoot the Moon by Norah Jones, I play both guitar parts and Sing (which is awful). Apart from the main rhythm which is loosely based on the original, everything else was just improvised on the spot including the last verse thought I'd add somet of my own into it :x

Anyhow if theres criticism make it constructive please, Oh and I wont take offense at anything or else I wouldnt of posted it big_smile

Equipment:
Fender Highway Strat, Blues Deluxe, Fulltone '69 and a PC gaming headset :x running through a Sound Blaster External box.

Re: A Recording by me...

Hi John

Singin's not awful at all.
It felt like 4am !! Thats a compliment BTW.
I listened at 6pm.

I rather enjoyed it.
After it finished playing my I tunes played the next track which was ZampraZ playing If Heartaches Were Nickles which was a nice surprise.

Maybe we should have a section on the site to put links to our recordings ?

What a soulful voice you have - not awful at all

Like the improv

"Stellar" a word used by Joe Bonamassa (also apt as a description of the man himself cool)

Re: A Recording by me...

Hi John, I really like your voice. It reminded me of Bob Dylan a bit. Great stuff.

Tripsy smile

No worries man.  You're fine.  I can't sing either, doesn't stop me.  It's good enough to sell pain and suffering.  Here's what I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5pGenDl … ature=user

nice guitar tone BTW.
