To quote Jane H. "this place is sold on being rock only, no dance club djs' and all."
Would someone tell the bar owners in Northern Michigan about this *recent* turn of events? I actually had the DJ at the club we played this weekend get PI$$ED about not being able to play his *dance club* music, at volumes louder that the band, between our blues/rock sets.
I had made a recon trip to the club last month and saw the setup. I made arrangements at that time with the club owner to use the house lights and PA and play similar stuff to what we play on the set breaks. He didn't tell the DJ. DJ dude was so torqued off that he wouldn't let us the house gear. I had to run to a local friends and rent him and his gear for the weekend.
I think that a club should at least keep the music consistent through out the night.
Edited to add: We just found this out. We have our stuff out at CDbaby.com, and this month so far, most of the hits we are getting are folks looking for stuff that sounds like JB. How cool is that!
