Man Steals Guitar by Placing It in Pants

LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — Police are searching for a man accused of
shoving an electric guitar in his pants and walking out of a store in
Lewiston, Maine.

Police say the theft occurred last week and they're looking for three
men. One of the men shoved a Fender Stratocaster in his pants and
pulled a sweatshirt over the top. The other two acted as lookouts.

All three can be seen on footage from video surveillance.

Strangely enough, the music shop has seen the method before. A man did
the same thing in 2006 but was caught as he tried to walk out.

Jamming.........or what?

I once saw the guys in Judas Priest rob a bank with their guitars. they were very nonchalant about it too. They were screaming "breaking the law" the entire time. Their getaway car was a convertible - not too inconspicuous.

And since I was a kid - my witness/testimony was not taken seriously. But the cops didn't believe me I even described the guitars make and model - "the one guy had a flying v!"
It was Rob Halford and Judas Priest I tell you!

I wonder if he fretted someone seeing his neck stick out? He had to think someone would pickup on it. He probably should have kept his hand on his nut, instead of his truss rod.

VERY, VERY FUNNY STU!  Bravo!

Actually, I love the whole thread - especially the title!  Nice visual with which to start the day.  I'll have this silly grin on my face for many hours, I'm sure.

Thanks!

I agree with Libby and Saint Stu, you have some mind! But, how could the clerk not notice? That store needs to rethink it's security. I'm surprised they didn't go for a case too! Amazed, Cathy

He told the woman police officer that arrested him that she should check out his whammy bar sometime!! He could evidently bend it all the way down.......and all the way back up again.

OMG!  Thanks alot Stu.  I took a drink of coffee when I started reading this.  I almost died choking! lol  Don't worry though, I stopped choking when it shot out of my nose--I'm okay now.

If he gets caught he'll probably be a Cry Baby and go Wah-Wah.

I want to see the security tape.

It wouldve been easy to do if the guitar was a steinberger!

As a relatively new forum member, I have chosen to keep my version of the double entendre filled reply in my private vault.  Perhaps it will be published posthumously, along with my memoirs.........

too funny. yeah, he could have damaged his headstock but he wasn't fretting because he knew he could pull some strings if he was caught. This was about 2 months before I joined up, it must have run it's course quickly.
