Hi
I am looking for a new amp, now i'm playing a Rivera Fandango a good amp
but i think there must be somewere a better amp for me
So what do you recommend?
I am more interested in the newer amps
so i can test af few in a guitarshop and compare them
I'm playing bluesrock like Joe, Gary Moore, John Mayer and Led Zeppelin

What's better than a Rivera?
I've heard lots of good amps...but nothing good enough to persuade me from my Rivera amp. Yes there are amps I'd want, but for the money and the subtle differences there's no way I'd change. YET.
I'm always keeping my amp options open though, I really hear what your're saying. I've been playing Rivera's since 2000. And I guess, like you, I'm getting a little itch to try something different. I think its just being bored. Problem is, with over $1000 to spend on an amp, I'd rather get another guitar! The logic behind that? NONE! You can play through more than 1 amp at a time, but you can only play 1 guitar at a time!

Open to debate. The biggest thing is what sounds good to YOU. Other things are how much money do you want to spend, do you really need a stack or will a combo do the job? Do you care about solid state/tube or would a modeling amp work for you.
A good idea is to check this thread. There are lots of us that have posted what we use. See what brand/model/type you see the most.
Personally, I love tube combos. I've owned several brands, types and even made a clone of a JTM45 combo that was amazing.

Beer does have some good obvious points.
I got turned onto combos when I learned I could unplug the combo's speaker and go straight into a 4x12 cab so the same amp could fuel large and small gigs...
I also prefer tube, but am starting to want to explore amp modeling - Line6, etc.

I've got a Line 6 Flextone III XL thats really pretty good. They did just come out with a tube based modeling amp thats sounds real good. best of both worlds.
Lots of great used boutique heads for sale on the emporiums; I'd probably never buy a new one in the market we have today. When you buy one used for half the new price; can always resell if it doesn't do anything for ya.

you can record straight from the back of the amp, correct? Is that USB or reg.cable???

If you want to explore amp modeling, this thing is about the best I've heard.

You use a MIDI to USB cable to hook it up to a normal computer but you can't record that way. Its only a signal to change settings or download tones to and from the amp. It has XLR outputs in the back that can run right to a PA or a recording system with no problem, but I've never tried it.

While that does work...the Line 6 amps have a better thing. If you use the method you mentioned, the volume controls on your amp will affect the signal as it normaly would. With the line 6 setup, you can run your amp as loud or quiet and it does not affect the signal at all. It has a adjustable switch so you can fine tune your signal going to your recording station. The line 6 tone port works real well for direct recording and sounds pretty good considering it does not cost much at all.

lol not quite well not for me anyhow 
I run through a Audigy 2 Zs Plat Pro external box so it has its own levels per inputs etc, essentially I can crank the amp then level it as it goes into the PC (still has its limit though) and because its using ASIO drivers its something like 2ms response time quite a good bit of hardware had it for a long time..

Before you ditch the Fandango maybe try some different speakers with it. Personally I have found that a speaker swap can make the most dramatic change in tone of any mods. Rivera makes some really good stuff and it is a great platform to build off of. Anyway just a suggestion.

I just stumbled onto this....not had time to read the whole thread so apologies if I misunderstand...just passing through.... but if you're talking about valve (tube) amps you should NEVER EVER EVER run them 'open circuit'!!! That means without a load....that means without plugging them in to correct impedance rated speaker cab....EVER!!! If you're talking about Line 6...ah, go ahead and blow 'em up

it's not that it sounds like real bad or something
the amp sounds good but when i here a guitar player
like Joe for example
than I think by myself there must be an amp which have a better sound
than my fandango
I don't have a budget if it's to expensive i just wait a few months
i really love the Marshall and Dumble style overdrive
has anyone here ever tried a ceriatone overtone special
i am really interested in this Dumble cloon
and for my here in Europe it's really cheap
