Topic: Berlin 29/3/08
Alright guys and gals ... here we go again .
I just returned from a 45 hours Berlin trip with little sleep and much excitement .... I´ll leave all the Berlin stories out now, because that would take too long - I´ll post some pictures later.
Well, after a little Berlin sightseeing on Saturday morning I met Issy at 4 pm in front of the Fritz club ... and to our great pleasure Rick came walking out and allowed us to listen to the soundcheck later. We came back to the club an hour later and realized that they had closed the doors in the meantime - but we had some good luck once again and a German guy came walking out and asked if we wanted to get in ... stupid question! Of course we wanted to get in!!
We sneaked through an open door and were waiting for the guys when another grumpy German guy came up to us and asked if we were allowed to be here. I put an innocent look on my face and said "Rick hats erlaubt" (which means "Rick allowed us to be here") - so that was our standard sentence of the day - "Rick hats erlaubt".
The guys did a very cool jam at the soundcheck with Joe playing his new turkish "Heavy metal sas" - sounded pretty awesome as you can imagine .
We all got on the bus after that and drank some of Andre´s wine (very good wine, Andre - but I was drunk after one glas!) while Joe was interviewed by two nice guys from a turkish magazine - the photographer took about 2000 photos of Joe and the whole bus so that Joe asked him afterwards if he wanted to create a 3D image out of the photos later ...
The show was absolutely FANTASTIC again, I forgot to add in the Munich review that I love the new version of "Don´t burn down that bridge" (although the rocking version is also more than great) ... I think the "new" setlist is even better than the one last year - a lot of rocking songs and so many highlights that you can´t name all of them. "Just got paid" was so damm good this time, it was PERFECT!
I invited my best friend Susi to the show and was curious how she would like it, because she´s not a big music fan (or at least she doesn´t listen to music too often) - but when Joe played "Woke up dreaming" she turned around to me with her mouth open - "Woke up dreaming" is just the point where he gets them ALL.
As Joe had given us backstage passes we could hang around with the guys after the show and had a lot of fun ... Bogie was so happy that Issy had brought some chocolate for him that he showed it proundly to EVERYONE who would enter the room, telling them "I got chocolate" .
So after the Berlin gig I have to add that the guys are not only the GODS OF BLUESROCK, but also the nicest and funniest lads one could think of (well, we all knew that before - but I just wanted to point out that one )
I guess I´ll have to save money to fly over to the UK in July, December is waaaaaaaay to far away!
Sleepy and very happy Eva
P.S.: Photos and videos are coming soon (Issy took the videos in Berlin, because my camera didn´t work - but still got the ones from Munich and pictures) ....
