Re: First song you played on a guitar

Are you talking 'live' or 'learned'  ... it matters one of them I can't remember..... tongue

Re: First song you played on a guitar

i know that the first song i learned on an accoustic was The beatles Eight days a week

Re: First song you played on a guitar

The first song i learned on the electric guitar was Smoke on the Water. My brother had gone to a guitar lesson and the teacher had given him that so i learnt it aswell. My brother then stopped a couple of lessons later and I took his guitar big_smile

I couldn't tell you what the first song i learned on the acoustic was, i'd been playing the electric for a couple of years before i bought an acoustic.

Re: First song you played on a guitar

I saw them on there come back farewell one tour absolutely amazing front row seats at MEN arena such a tight act (was £80 a ticket then as well) I would pay again but I cant get time off work etc to see them sad

Re: First song you played on a guitar

The Rolling Stones Wild Horses - strummed (poorly) on my electric Les Paul copy.  That was my first real song...I'm sure my Mel Bay level 1 book had some simple "tunes" that I had to learn to complete my lessons...but I never counted them as songs.

I also learned Ode To Joy on Acoustic--but I learned Hells Bells on Electric.

I'm 54 so I started with the Beatles and the Allman Bros.
Acoustic--"You've Got To Hide Your Love Away"
Electric--"Leave My Blues At Home"
