Topic: Eindhoven March 10

After a drive from a little more than an hour me and Annelies finally arrived in Eindhoven yesterday. The weather was terrible, but we couldn't care about that.
After having a nice dinner we went to the venue around h19. The doors were not opened yet so we decided to have a drink in the cafe next to it.
Around 19.30 the doors opened and we could get in.
It was completly sold out ( you go mr popartist! smile )and the venue was great.
Because a lot of people almost run to the center of the stage,we found ourselves a nice spot on the left side.
No opening act(?) tonight, show started around h20.30
The sound was great and Joe's voice sounded perfect. The guys played really tight and although it was pretty cold outside. The guys were on fire.Joe was playing very fast on woke up dreaming.

Can't remember the whole setlist (just outta bed wink )
But the intro was a little different than the last time we saw the guys in october. Think the setlist was a bit like in the UK.
Really liked to see and hear : a new day yesterday and starship trooper again.
And one of these days ,also one of my favorites.

After the gig we went straight home because we had a long drive home coming a head. And offcourse we have tonight to go to Utrecht. So we had to have some sleep.
Didn't bring my camera with me last night but will tonight.

Hope tonight is gonna be great as last night.

Re: Eindhoven March 10

Hi Marianne. Thanks for your review, sounds like you and Annelies had a great night.Joe and the boys are still going strong - I don't know where they get their energy from. Maybe it's drawn from the enthusiasm and love of their fans. If that's so then there's no stopping them!
Enjoy tonight, looking forward to some piccies Marianne

Take care

Hi Marianne

Thanks for getting a review so quickly onto the forum.  I wish my brain was that active first thing in the morning.  It sounds like you and Annelies had a great time.  Nice to see A New Day Yestreday included - hope that stays in.

Enjoy the rest of the concerts (I know you will), look forward to some pictures and hope to see you in The Hague!

Re: Eindhoven March 10

hi everybody!
what a great evening! Marianne already said it. The band was great!! We are still talking about it. Our son in law said several  times that it is impossible that a human being can play the guitar the way Joe does. He has seen many many bands but he did not believe his eyes and ears while Joe was giving the best. It was a very big surprise that the guys came back for a little chat. Thanks for that!! Hans, my husband started to play the guitar about a year ago. He will make great progress now with one of Joe's plectrums..

For you Marianne and Annelies, geniet ze vanavond.
We can't wait till saturday, The Hague. Only 4 nights away!

Re: Eindhoven March 10

Marianne, thanks for the review. It sounds like Joe is finally over sicky funk he picked up in India and is in fine form. Wish I could be over there...has it really only been a month since I last saw his show? Seems like forever. smile

I'm just saying.

Re: Eindhoven March 10

Thanks for the quick post Marianne!

I guess we'll meet outside the doors as early as possible on Thursday? Not sure when we'll get there, hope to leave the city by 5:30-ish and not get stuck in a jam on the A9.

RIP Iron Man

Re: Eindhoven March 10

I also was at the Effenaar, Eindhoven and I was very impressed by his sound. This was the first live gig of Joe I saw and surely not the last.
Amazing!
