This is all well and good, and a lot of these apply to my lifestyle, it's all about making small changes.

However, on the flip side of the coin you could argue that "why am I doing this whilst China is opening a new coal-fueled power staion every week to 10 days?" This is not my view, but it does anger me greatly. Everyone involved needs to be accountable!!

My personal opinion is that we are past the point of no return environmentally speaking. We can prolong the inevitable for a time, but what will be will be. Morbid I know, but I think its true..........(I hope I'm wrong though)

Well you see Jane, the reason we have the off topics section of this forum is because if we all expended our energy on just Joe posts, we would create a giant hole in the Joezone layer and harmful UV rays would seep through and give us all skin cancer (thus, we would have less time on this earth to enjoy Joe's music).  See, it is all about conservation and balance.  Science, Jane, science....

This has been a very cival discussion all. Thanks. Discussing the price of gas which I say is about like discussing the weather,  has also turned into a civil energy conversation. Nothing wrong with that. It is educational to hear about how our bonabuddies in Europe deal with a common expense like Petrol.

Oh goodness a whole day of forum addiciton and I missed this earlier, thanks Montius. Jozone , that needs an add to you know where, IMO. My sincere apologies, once again what I said didn't reflect everything I meant. I meant in the OTHER sections smile but it was posted here because this was the energy conservation thread. My haiku here was intended to reflect that notion as well.

I do in fact have many comments I could contribute here that may help educate but I have intentionally chosen to not say them. Just about anything I would contribute or point out has the logical conclusion of a political solution. Thats off limits and inappropriate to say here. I do not want to take away from the joy and promotion of Joe's music, which is the reason I believe we are all here, by making waves on purpose.
Sometimes it happens by either my fault or misunderstanding though. I not only have spent some time researching, discussing, and practising energy conservation in other areas of my life, I am interested in learning/sharing much more from whomever cares to discuss with me via email. I think this subject ties nicely with transportation and land planning, other topics of interest to me that Europeans have a bit more history with I am finding. Of course safety is a big concern of mine, hence one of my middle names. So please, I'm willing to share(and take criticism) via email, please never doubt that. smile

I guess one thing I can add is, a concern about potential future energy sources is my need for Joe to be able to plug in and crank it up. While he excells at acoustic, I think it would not be as great a world without Joe's electric guitar music.

Hey, I'm just all about protecting the Joezone layer.

It's too bad that too many social issues that could be discussed and shared amongst forum members can turn political in a hurry.  It's kinda nice to discuss those things from people of different walks of life, as long as it stays civil.  But I suppose rules are rules.

Yeah it's about 9 dollars a gallon in Sweden too, the price you guys are paying... it has never been that low over here
