ohiodawg13 - that last comment is verging on racism and totally unecessary. Scotland loves Joe and vice-versa

Although it's certainly not my place to speak for Dawg (who is likely to be asleep now), I would suggest that his comment was intended to be light-hearted and not offensive. I think your use of the word 'racism' in this context is way over the top and inappropriate.

Re: GLASGOW

Ummmmm. Interesting diversion from Michael's original post. I've slept on it and would like to comment on the issue of Woke up Dreaming / Guitar Porn et al.

I've now seen Joe Live 8 times and WUD still gives me shivers each time I hear and see it live, and Joe loves to play it - Good enough one might think! However, I'm trying to come to terms with that, and Joe's stated intention to develop as a musician / performer, the cries for an accoustic album (before Sloe Gin was released) and what the fans, new and old and first timers will like (no adore) So Joe, what do you think of an acocustic break in the show, similar to what you do now, but with a medly of shortened songs that feature your playing and your voice, covering the range of genres that we all love, each song segwaying into the other, finishing of with the flourish of a shortened Woke up Dreaming?

It's my guess this diversity would floor old and new fans alike, satisfy some of the Blues deluxe devotees and draw from nearly all your albums. If you think I'm speaking bollocks you can tell me to my face tonight at Newcastle, I'll be front and centre as usual, cheering my heart out and wondering how I'm going to fill my time until I see you next in Liverpool on the 7th July!

You and the boys are just on fire at the moment!

Re: GLASGOW

Geoff, a while back Joe did do a three song acoustic set closing with WUD. He has thrown in Faux Mantini and Helicopters and Gasoline in a few of them. I believe when Mark was in the band. There is a show that Joe Beacon recorded at IMAC that you need to get a hold of.

When you mention OP, i figure you mean offensive person. or offending poster or something like that.

OP means "original poster". In this case used improperly because the person that I was referring to wasn't the OP.

Re: GLASGOW

Cor... this lots taken some reading. Lets have a mass debate!!

Talking of guitar porn I am kind off surprised that I have not encountered any use of the phrase Bonamass-turbation.If we use it enough we may get in the dictionary ie:-

BONAMASSTURBATION- The almost sexual pleasure derived from watching or listening to a guitar genius.

A fan forum is for people who are fans. Pure and simple. I have never before become part of a forum but I joined because of the enthusiasm I have for Joe's music. I,have really enjoyed the last two weeks. I've seen three shows and made many new friends. That's what it's all about

Michael,

Once again, I cannot thank you enough for so generously sharing the marvelous work.  Guess how we're going to spend the evening?  Yes, that's right, we will be snuggled comfortably in front of the monitor (when I'm not up dancing, that is), pretending we are far, far away, WATCHING OUR FAVORITE ARTIST OF ALL TIME WORK HIS MAGIC, once again!!!  Thank you Joe, thank you Michael, thank our mods, thank my new forum friends for all of your HARD WORK and EACH OF YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO MY LIFE.  I appreciate each and every one of you and cannot believe what a great time I have had here for the past two weeks.

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Re: GLASGOW

I'm sorry if I offended Shavian with the use of the word beginning with D and yes it is Glasgow slang for a word beginning with P but that dude annoyed me big time. Why bother registering for a fan's forum when he clearly isn't?

Amsterhammer please do not slag off the poor haggis. It is now an endangered species nearing extinction, maybe if people stopped hunting the poor wee beastie we could all eat meat loaf instead. As for The Scots, we love Joe B and embrace his talent lovingly.
