Topic: My summer just went down the crapper
My shoulder's been bugging me for a couple months and since it didn't seem to be getting any better, I finally went and saw the doctor this week. Long and short of it is I have a torn (detached) rotator cuff ...and a torn labrum for good measure.
So my near future involves fairly major shoulder surgery. Evidentally a series of plastic screws (I understand they dissolve eventually) to reattach tendon to bone, six weeks in a sling, and 6 months of rehab.
I just canceled my June fishing/camping trip into the Minnesota wilderness with my daughter and probably closed the book on playing golf for an entire season, which sorta sucks.
Oh well, I didn't really post this to whine to you all. There's a lot of worse things in life and I'm gonna look at this as a bit of a "speed bump". I'm just curious if anyone has any experience or knowledge of the procedure, or knows anyone that's gone through it. The doc told me that I'm gonna be miserable for at least two solid days after surgery. He said this is the most painful surgery there is, bar none...(expletive deleted) scared the crap outta me!
