Re: Intro + Mountain Time 2/22/08

Paul he played it at the cardiff gig as well. there's something about the tone he gets out of that giggliotti that's just beautiful. wish he'd use it on more tracks. don't know about the crewe show but in cardiff there wasn't a fender in sight!
Gibsons, the giggliotti and a Chandler (i think) were the electrics he used. Glad you enjoyed the show, lets hope the UK becomes  an annual trip for him.

Re: Intro + Mountain Time 2/22/08

I sincerely hope so.

My jaw hit the floor when he brought the Giggliotti and the Chandler out, beautiful guitars both. My jaw remained there also whilst they were both being played masterfully too.

Would love to see him do "Django" on the Giggliotti. Am sure I've seen him do it before on YouTube......be right back....must research...

Re: Intro + Mountain Time 2/22/08

paul you're so right Django on the giggliotti would sound awsome. been trying to get i hands on one of them for years, cant seem to find anywhere local ie in Wales that stock them. a friend of a friend bought one after his divorce came through, ( said if he didnt buy a giggliotti he'd only spend it on beer and women and waste the rest) he had everything in the exact same spec as Joe, cost him a couple of grand from what i hear so i dont think he'll let me borrow it for the weekend. do you know of any uk stockists?

If i'm not mistaken this looks like a GT and it sounds pretty darned good!!

Haven't seen any UK stockists to be honest with you. Would love to get my hands on one, however due to the fact that

a) I'm broke, and
b) Can't play very well at all,

I can't see that happening anytime soon. It is a thing of beauty in the right hands. I'll just stick to me Les Paul....copy sad

Paul
You were right, Django does sound great on a Gig though i'm not sure if it is the GT as the GT doesn't have a whammy bar and has a cut-out on the body and only 2 pick ups. but it is in the GT colours from the web site    http://www.gigliottiguitars.com/
mind you i may be wrong.
i've been trying to find a vid of Joe playing "revenge of the 10 gallon hat" if you come accross it let me know matey wink

Re: Intro + Mountain Time 2/22/08

Thank you man, much appreciated.

Le Zarb, you're right it isn't the GT, but it's got the same colours. Would give an appendage for a guitar as sweet as that though, arms excluded though!! wink

I don't think there are any UK stockists but if you visit the gigliotti website you can order one direct from there and specify all sorts of magical tricks. I contemplated getting one after my first dose of bonamedicine a couple of years ago but bottled it! Prices have gone up a tad since then and I have set up an automatic kicking myself device in case I ever forget how much I regret it!

Patrick is such a nice guy and will help you out no end. Wee tip though if you do get one you will most likely have to do what Joe did and pack it with foam as it has a tendency to feed back.

Re: Intro + Mountain Time 2/22/08

OK guys after you with the kicking device...mind you if you've patented the device you might earn enough to buy a gigliotti big_smile
i to checked them out about 2 years ago and unless i'm mistaken they were about half the price. which worked out about the price of a tidy strat or gibson, amazing.Wish i'd thought of a kicking deviced back then instead of letting the wife to do it ever since.
Now to pay over 2 and half grand, plus import duty, and hope the nummties in an airport baggage handling area know what "Fragile" means is out of the question. i reckon if there was a UK dealer he'd make a mint!, or have a big queue of punters outside the shop waiting for a hands on demo!

When I was in correspondence with Patrick he said something about packaging it as a gift(would that avoid import tax?) Probably a bit too scary as you wouldn't want anything to go wrong in transit.

I agree a UK dealer would make a mint.
