The old vs new thread started a conversation that leads to this question. Is Joe's popularity rising because of the musical direction Sloe Gin exemplifies, or is it a matter of exposure, etc. (Humor me, I may be on my way to N.J. for the birth of grandbaby#4..waiting for a call-back.....Nanny
Well Nanny, positioning myself firmly on the fence, I reckon it's bound to be a combination of both.
We all know about the snowball effect of word of mouth. When I say word of mouth, I mean all of us here (plus probably others who don't use this site yet) badgering, cajoling and harassing everyone we know who isn't a convert yet.
In the end, we just grind them down. 
No doubt the prolonged stay of Sloe Gin at the top of the charts will also have generated many new listeners and ensured more airtime than previously.
Exposure -- JB and the boys work their butts off to grow the business.
I do think it´s increasing because we all are so well speaking about these guys.
Everybody that saw the show is blown away and want to share this experience with others.
I know i did.Beside the fact that this is a great music for the older and younger public,so everybody gets what they wants during the show
And offcourse the guys are working hard,touring across the US and Europe.And promoting themselfs.
I look at it this way..We can't really know, but...I think Joe would be where he is based souly on his talent. He doesn't think he has a "special" gift, but many do. I think Kevin Shirley has helped him produce 2 excellent CD's as reflected by their sales. Point being, I don't think that's the only route to success. I am confident that Joe will become bigger and bigger with or without K.S. IMHO Cathy
His last two cds with working your butt off = a successful combination.
Amen brother Phil and sister Marianne!!! And nothing beats fans with a huge desire to spread some groovy (yes, I said Groovy-still warms my earlobes and ear canals) news, witnessings, and fresh/packaged sounds all aroundz the townz worldwiiiiiiiiiiiiidde!!!
