Crosby,
I can't believe that you are suffering now too. We wish you a speedy recovery, but, I also wanted to share some practical advice which I've been leaving for Joe - I can't believe that he has been sick since we saw you all at The Coach House, and NOW YOU TOO!!
By the way, it was truly a pleasure meeting you and Paul before and after the show. Thank you for being so warm, generous and kind and for signing my pics and the CD for my hubby. I will be sending your package, as promised, but know that you'll be away from home for some time yet.
Anyhoooo....here's my best advice:
Nurse Libby here with some serious suggestions to help you get rid of what ails you.....
Try to stay away from dairy products for a while, as they will only add to the problem.
Breathe steam several times a day - whether in a really hot shower, or with a towel over your head while you lean over a bowl of boiling hot water (AFTER it's off the stove) - this should be both productive and soothing.
If your sinuses hurt then have someone buy you a gel mask (shaped like a Lone Ranger mask) that you can put in the freezer and then lay over your tender sinuses. This should actually help reduce the swelling in your sinus passages and, therefore, provide some relief from the pain.
Drink PLENTY of hydrating liquids. Mixing a little apple cider vinegar with water and sipping it all day should help to break things up too. A lot of people SWEAR by that method. Of course, there is always tea.....and plenty to be found where you are.
Wash your hands.....use all that anti-bacterial stuff.....and next time, especially when you know you've been exposed.....take Airborne.....suck zinc lozenges.....or use Zicam....any of those should stop it or decrease the intensity and duration.
So sorry you are suffering. Rest. Maybe the guys can handle the meet and greets for a while during your recovery.
All best wishes,
Libby
P.S. We've been hearing great things about your performances, sick or not.
I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-
