I was thinking they're on the strings most often broken. Nylon saddles affects the tone a little, so maybe to save tone they're only on the threee strings most broken on the bridge.
I have graphtec nuts and saddles on my strat and really like it. no more broken strings.
Although on my Gibsons, if I wrap around the tailpiece I don't break strings with the nashvill or ABR-1 standard bridges...
