Topic: Joe Jamming with Walter Trout

This is much better sound quality of Joe and Walter in Winter Park.  Sorry if it's been posted before, but if so it's still worth another listen.

Re: Joe Jamming with Walter Trout

Oh my!!!!!  Thanks for sharing.  Think we might have to add Mr. Trout onto our spring concert calendar.  Didn't they look like they were having the time of their lives?

P. S.  Welcome to the forum.  If you post an Intro page more members will know you've arrived.

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Re: Joe Jamming with Walter Trout

I saw Walter and his boys three times in '07 including once in a bar - wow that guy can smoke! If you like Joe and haven't seen Walter before I highly recommend you put his band on your"live" circuit schedule. For you Northern New Englanders i believe he is on the bill again for the North Atlantic Blue Fest in Maine. Now that is a fest worth traveling to!

Re: Joe Jamming with Walter Trout

Okie dokie.  I see 3 dates coming up @ two venues (@ least one is a bar) nearby.  smile

Libby,
Perq's in Huntington Beach is Walter's "home" venue. He lives in HB and plays Perq's a few times a year when he's not touring. VERY small place that I can imagine gets pretty crazy when Walter's there. Haven't seen Walter there personally, but when we were out there a few years ago we stopped in to check the place out.

BTW, Walter has a new drummer in his band replacing Joey Pafumi. Joey has a unique style of playing and was a lot of fun to watch, but I guess he wanted to move on to other things.

Re: Joe Jamming with Walter Trout

Yes Lee, I read that about both his new and old drummers today.  Also knew a few months ago about Perqs, that it's his home base and is a small bar.  We weren't sure how "crazy" that might make it.  We'd just like to hear and see him - we love small, intimate venues, but, want to make sure that it's good crazy and not bad crazy.  You know....we try to avoid the kind of place where drinking is the priority instead of the music.  I hate having to struggle to hear an act because someone else's agenda is different than mine.  Maybe, since it's Walter's home base, that wouldn't happen.  Maybe he wouldn't LET that happen.  He looks like he could tell someone off much more effectively than I could.  smile

Let ya know what we decide.  I think it's worth a try though.  Thanks so much for your effort to help.  smile

Re: Joe Jamming with Walter Trout

Hey Libby,

I'm not sure, but I thought I'd heard that Walter owns that club in HB, could be wrong. I saw Walter a year ago Aug. at the late great Sweetwater Saloon in Mill Valley. Their capacity was about 125-150 and in a place that small Walter's music clearly dominated the room. Sorry to hear Joey bowed out of the line up, he's a rock steady drummer and a nice guy to chat up about music. I'd love to catch Walter and Joe at the same time one of these days.

J Dawg,

I've tried to catch you to ask you - I see you're from Benecia.  Do you happen to know Michael and Ann Nourot?  Also, are you from Ohio originally?
