TORCH has become a favorite since I picked it up after learning that Joe played on "Mercy, Mercy," and I've seen Honeytribe about 4 times since then-- love 'em!  In fact, I just heard today that they're coming to Pittsburgh, Rex Theater, on March 1.

Re: What CDs do you recommend?

Alter Bridge is a good pick... the CD is awesome. I also like Backdoor Slam... both are great choices!

Re: What CDs do you recommend?

Some of my favorite more guitar-oriented CD's:

For the more straight up rock:
Silvertide- Show and Tell (kinda like a new take on the AC/DC sound)
Ritchie Kotzen- Go Faster (really cool stuff- upbeat rock with some kickin' guitar solos smile )
Eric Johnson- Bloom  (How can you go wrong with EJ?)
Andy Timmons- Resolution (again, awesome guitar, great tone... can't go wrong)
Joe Satriani- Super Colossal (self explanitory)

More Blues-rock/ Jam:
Gov't Mule- Live... With a Little help from our Friends (Awesome, soulful playing by Mr. Haynes, with Allen Woody on bass!)
Cream- Live Cream Vol. 2 (had to add this one in- GREAT CD!)
The Steepwater Band- Dharmakaya (Blues-rock band from Detroit I believe... some cool stuff here)

Re: What CDs do you recommend?

It all depends what you're looking for. Although you probably won't find it in your music store down the street, Ryan McGarvey's 'Forward In Reverse' is a winner all the way through. If you're looking for an AC/DC type metal vibe, try out Airbourne,'s 'Runnin' Wild', another solid release. Mountain's 'Masters Of War' is another good one, and Steve Fister's 'Live Bullets'(New Album 'Deeper Than The Blues' out April 11th) is also highly recommended.

Re: What CDs do you recommend?

You peeps are being very cool to "the old mailman"....Im writing them all down, and going on the web to hear some sound bites...this music store has a huge selection of used cds too, they even have a header card for Joe Bonamassa! (it was empty)....it's cool that they will let you listen to the used ones at anytime before buying...I've spent hours in there just listening and browsing...anymore??

Re: What CDs do you recommend?

Sorry I knew it is Torch, have the CD in front of me!
There is the item about why blues is more appreciated in Europe than in America.

If you look at my list here, don't you nice Americans never wonder why we know all these in America often still unknown bands like;
Albert Cummings, Stoney Curtis, eddie turner, Steve Fister, Jim Suhler, devon Allman. etc. etc.
We love the blues!!

There is a really great  bluesfeeling overhere, lots of pure blues. bluesmagazines  bluesrockclubs and much place for alternative music.
4th of July John Mayall in Lantaarn Hellendoorn, very nice club 600 can go in, only 30 min drive.  Will have to do with the as Joe said British blueshistory also.
Distances are much shorter , Joe plays 10 times within a range of 200 kilometers in Western Europe.
Rockpalast has a big positive influence too on music overhere.

Unfortunatly I think the blues went out of style here. Its all hip hop and alternative rock, and corporate boy and girl bands. It seems that the blues has always stayed at a higher level in Europe.Thats why so many artists spend alot of their time touring there.I hope its[the blues] making a comeback here, there are certainly enough great artists out there.
