Hi RJK, Welcome to Joe World. Please post your review. I believe the plan is for Joe and Sam to alternate. If Sam plays before Joe, stick around because the last time Joe came out and jammed at the end. Regardless, you will have fun. Lot's of luck getting people to be quiet when Joe does his low volume stuff....there always seems to be at least 1 drunken idiot who thinks that is the time for them to scream "JOE"...also..get as close to the stage as possible...I didn't notice how many people were talking until the quiet parts....I even yelled "quiet"...but in front you feel like it's just you, a few friends and the band...Cathy

No smoke ….. no laser lights …… no special visual effects …… just pure killer tone …… the guy plays his butt off. I looked around the room and the crowd was mesmerized. The band was very tight and I thought the crowd for the most part excellent. The quiet times were not too bad. Penn’s Peak like I said before is a beautiful venue with great sound.
I didn’t catch Loggins. I’m not familiar with Sam Bush but he and his band were excellent but it’s not kind a music. The people I was with wanted to leave so I didn’t catch the full set or if Joe came out to jam with them. We wanted to see Joe and the boys and wished that their set would have been longer ……. Oh well there’s always next time ….. rjk

Super show...Joe smoked..the people I brought who never saw him were stunned...Crosby was good...got to meet him after his set...Sam Bush was good on Joe encore..we did not stay for his whole set as it is hard to get into it after Joe...even if his set was limited Joe smoked on elec and acoustic...played one song I wasn;t sure of after the acoustic stuff...glad he still has his Frampton tribute in there..along with many others...

He is amazing

Amazing show once again, this time around I watched Crosby and his accompanying violinist Paul who were incredible. For an ensemble of two musicians the energy that Crosby and Paul generated on stage was amazing when you are used to  seeing a full band these guys really made it happen themselves. Great job.  The music scene is evolving slowly back to the good old days where real talent prevailed and musicians like Crosby and Joe will be an integral part of this new scene that is now emerging.

Moving on to Joe well I am beginning to run out of words to describe your shows! Every show is nothing short of brilliant. You play the guitar with such passion and conviction which makes your music so unique. Least I  forget the other wonderful musicians on stage with you. Bogie, Rick and Carmine who all have such a unique style that puts you all in a class of your own. You guys are dangerous but brilliant!

Peens Peak was a great place to hear you play. I have seen quite a few of your shows  recently and each venue produces a different slant on the music, last night was no exception sound was phenomenal as always. Sam Bush joining you on stage for "Asking around for you" was cool, as was you joining him for his encore super cool! Great choice of songs as always you covered all the favorites and Just Got Paid really was grooving last night.

Wonderful show, great audience, wonderful locale. Keep on blazing that trail which you have started! as you travel throught the U.S and around the world.

Karen.

What an incredible night of music in an incredible venue!!!  Other than being a bit tough to find, Penn's Peak is the nicest of the 8 venues I've seen Joe and the band play since June.  It was big, but not too big with great sound and lighting.

Having seen Crosby alone and with Paul, I prefer Crosby with accompaniment.  He seemed to feel more comfortable and to let loose a bit more.  Either way, this was the best set I've seen from Crosby to date.  He seems to be gain confidence with each show.  The crowd was very enthused.

Joe and the band gave an incredible performance.  I think being well-rested and relaxed probably contributed to the awesome energy coming from Joe and the band.  There were a few concessions made to accomodate Sam Bush being on the program.  Bogie didn't get his usual drum solo, and Joe did only one encore, Asking Around For You, during which he was joined by Sam Bush.  This was awesome.

Then came Sam Bush and his band.  I couldn't stay for their whole set Wednesday in Baltimore as it was a work night, but I didn't miss a note on Saturday.  I can't claim to have been familiar with Sam prior to reading that he was doing some of the dates with Joe, but consider me educated.  For example, who know Fender made electric mandolins? Sam played an assortment of mandolins and a fiddle, all with Joe-esque skill and passion.  His band was great too.  I never expected to hear a the Bob Marley/Stevie Wonder Jammin'/MasterBlaster, but I did.

Joe and Sam (and his band) both came out and talked and signed until every last fan was satisfied.  I didn't see Bogie, Carmine and Rick after the show, but I suspect they were around.  I had my 15-year-old cousin with me.  This was his second Joe show, but his first chance to meet Joe.  He was simply ecstatic at being able to get an autograph and have his picture taken with Joe.

Joe-thanks so much for not only being the musician you are, but being the person you are and taking the time to show your appreciation for the fans.  To have that personal connection with an artist of your caliber makes us feel special.  I hope you enjoy the poster I gave you, and I'm working on some other stuff as we discussed.

What am I going to do now until Joe comes back to the Northeast??????

Re: Penns Peak 11/17/2007

I'm a little late, but I wanted to express how much we enjoyed this show.  I love Penn's Peak as a venue, and it was a great place to see Joe.  After a 2-hour drive home, I registered here right away so I could post, but I ended up reading a bunch of threads until I fell asleep, and I'm just now getting back to it.

This was my second JB show, but it was the first for my 17-year old son and another young friend I talked into going... they were both completely blown away and so glad they went.  My son said Joe's playing "makes me feel happy because it gives me hope for the future of music".  His set was a little shorter than usual because of co-headlining with Sam Bush, but he did play all the stuff I most wanted my son and my friend to hear... when he started playing the accoustic High Water Everywhere, I didn't think we'd get Woke Up Dreaming too, but to my sheer delight we did... some of the fastest accoustic picking I've ever seen... love it!

That was my first introduction to Sam Bush... quite unique and impressive!  For example, I've never heard anything quite like that bluegrass/reggae number, but it worked.  And of course I loved it when Sam and Joe played together at the end.  Visually speaking, Sam puts me in mind of a cross between younger versions of Eric Clapton and Phil Lesh, lol.
