Hard to believe '23 has gone by so fast, I don't think this was a monumental year for outstanding new music.
My four that stood out were;
S.O.S. 4: Blues For Your Soul/ Marc Broussard
Life and Life Only/ The Heavy Heavy
The Bad Day/ The Bad Day
Fearless/ Crown Lands
While I have to admit, 2023 didn't get off to the best of starts [for new music], I still think that there is time for a couple of new albums to come up on the rails, not least, Working Man, the final album from Bernie Marsden RIP which is due in the UK on 8th Dec.
However, having a quick look back, here's my stand-out albums from the past year: -

Ashley Sherlock - Just A Name
Eric Johanson - The Deep & The Dirty
The Coral - Sea of Mirrors
Holy Joe's Coral Island Medicine Show
Robin Trower + Sari Schorr - Joyful Sky
The best though: -
Dom Martin - Buried In The Hail
Honourable legends nods go to Uriah Heep, The Pretenders; Alice Cooper and The Rolling Stones who's releases last year were reputation confirming.

For the life of me I just can't get past Dom's vocals. The songs off the album are cleverly played and interesting, but I guess they're not my cup of tea. All the other mentions are quite good with the exception of The Coral's being fantastic.
The Coral is a lot like some artists I secretly love. Sea of Mirrors is the best album I've heard this year, easily better than the four selections I initially posted. I also love their Roots and Echoes release from 2007. Btw, I was unable to find the other album in their catalog.

I know where you're coming from regarding Dom Martin's vocals; in some ways for me, it's what held me back for so long with Rory Gallagher, whom Martin has been compared to a lot in his early days. Which is strange as this album sees him moving away from the Gallagher influences. I'll be honest, it was seeing the show a couple of months back where Martin played the album Live, in its entirety that swung it for me. That said, I very nearly didn't go as Hamilton Loomis was playing nearby the same evening, and it's been a long while since I last caught Ham-bone.
If you're referring to the Holy Joe... album, I think it's only available in a combo deal with Sea of Mirrors on the band's website, though looks like it's available separately via Amazon (if you're interested... it's a continuation of previous album Coral Island)
I'd also check out james Skelley's solo album Love Undercover from 2013.
