Eric Clapton announced today - June 14 - that he will be hosting a series of concert dates across the U.S. in September 2021. Tickets for these shows will go on sale starting Friday, June 18th at 10am.

Eric Clapton’s band for these shows will include Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, Sonny Emory, Steve Gadd and Chris Stainton with Sharon White and Katie Kissoon on backing vocals. The show will feature Jimmie Vaughan as special guest.

The newly announced shows will be Clapton’s only North American dates for 2021 and will precede his European tour, which was recently rescheduled to Spring of 2022 due to ongoing COVID restrictions in Europe.

Bucket list stuff for sure.  Just make sure Johnny Depp is absent.

I thought EC "retired" a few years back because he couldn't play anymore? What are his shows like now days? The Johnny Depp comment makes me think it's another 3-ring circus with all sorts of special "guests" carrying the show... I hope that's not the case.

I too thought he'd "retired" several years ago, so either something has fired him up again (in April he did a  five-night residency at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan) or else he's nothing better to do. I see from his site, there's a new single, a guitar duet with Jeff Beck (RIP); Moon River. as swell as recently a duet with Van Morrison.

I think Curby was typing "tongue in cheek" with the Johnny Depp reference; there's no word as yet on any "guests", but hopefully not one as annoying...
