Topic: Any Melodic Rock Fans Here?

A great band to check out would be Gotthard from Sweden.  A little heavier music, but great nonetheless.  They have a new cd that came out this year called Domino Effect.

Another greatcd I got this year was the debut from Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Dolores O'Riordan's band)

Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple) also put out a great cd this year called Second Hand Life.

A great show to check out for 80's band lovers would be Scrap Metal.  They are comprised of the Gunnar and Matthew Nelson (Nelson), Mark Slaughter (Slaughter), Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger), Eric Martin (Mr Big).  They have guest vocalists sometimes too.  Just saw them at Mohegan Sun with Joe Lynn Turner doing a couple of his songs. (Rainbow, Deep Purple).  As they say at the beginning ofr their show "these are songs any 40-something will know the words to". smile

MC:  You may not realize this, but I seem to recall that an earlier Joe Lynn Turner album (am I showing my age?) entitled "Holy Man" featured our very own Joe Bonamassa, as well as possibly former bass/drums Eric Czar and Kenny Kramme and appears to have several tracks co-written by Joe. Anyone have the skinny?

P.S.  Loved him singing for Yngwie Malmsteen before he was "been there, done that".

Takers get the honey, givers sing the blues

Well, you're not showing your age, because I remember JLT with Rainbow. yikes  I only had the pleasure of seeing him live for the first time this year.  Actually 4 times in 2 months!

Ok here's the skinny on Holy Man (2000)

Honest Crime
JLT, B Held, J Bonamassa
Guitars Joe Bonamassa

Wolves At The Door
JLT, B Held, J Bonamassa
Guitars Joe Bonamassa

Angel
JLT, B Held, J Bonamassa
Guitars Joe Bonamassa

I can totally hear JB's influence on these songs.  Reminds me alot of one of my other favorites of JB's The Hard Way.

Wow, thanks for the 2 degrees of separation between two of my favorite Joe's smile
