Christine McVie - what a great lady and such a musical legacy.
Hadn’t realised she was 79, always thought she was younger.

Re: R.I.P. Thread

Unfortunate news - BonaBud Sandy Piche lost her fight to cancer. I met Sandy through the forum and Facebook, she was one of the “OGs”. Sandy had been a fan of Joe since the beginning and first saw him live in 2004. She will be missed.

Re: R.I.P. Thread

No more heroes?

Jet Black, the original drummer for 1970s punks The Stranglers, has died aged 84, the band confirmed.

The musician, who was born Brian Duffy, was a founding member of the Guildford group, playing on hits Golden Brown, Peaches and No More Heroes.

He last performed with them in 2015, announcing his retirement a few years later due to ill health.

Black's death comes two years after The Stranglers' keyboard player Dave Greenfield died at the age of 71 after testing positive for coronavirus.

Re: R.I.P. Thread

Sandy Piche, yes very tough.  Such a Sweetness in her all and everything…I struggle for words…
Royal Albert Hall concert, first night before met she and offspring at Dingwalls for Ansley Lister with For’im meet up London Crewe, a night unto itself, with a good rocking backdrop, new friends kinda feeling like old ones once in person, 3 months later at The Hot August Blues Festival 2009, an epic gathering of Inner Natural breadth, and at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival 2010 she and the omnipresent Mr. Meerkat (my condolences), both at Bill S’s pre-festival house and garden “Bona-Who?” Party and at Joe’s appearance with Robert Randolph and The Family Band she had that camera (as a very skilled photographer!) capturing things, not to mention her taking care of her dear friend (having to leave early). Always joyous and sweet, and caring-you know, what the world needs, if we ever have a chance at Love and Peace…
sad
I’m ok with not knowing, guilt free because I’m Very Glad to know Sandy.  She joins others who are greatly missed.  Blessed.

Kim Maiden Simmonds (born 5 December 1947 - died 13 December 2022)  R.I.P.

Kim Simmonds, who has led the blues rock band, Savoy Brown, since it was formed in the mid-’60s, has died. His death, on Dec. 13, 2022, just eight days after he turned 75 on Dec. 5, was announced on his Facebook page on Dec. 15. The guitarist-singer-songwriter had been in a hospital battling stage 4 signet cell colon cancer (SCCC). The post announcing his death noted “One of Kim’s last requests was to thank the fans of Savoy Brown. Your support was, and shall always be, immensely appreciated.”

Very sad news regarding Jeff Beck, I know Joe was a fan and has covered some of his work.

Re: R.I.P. Thread

A long time ago there was a list among a much larger fan base here of who or who shouldn't be in the top five guitarists of all time.  Jeff Beck for certain was on that list for me.  Now only Jimmy Page survives membership along with Duane Allman, Peter Green, Beck and the greatest of them all, Jimi Hendrix.
I remember Mike Craggs finally able to scratch JB off his bucket list despite Johnny Depp's hogging the stage with the guitar virtuoso.
I first heard him with The Yardbirds and seeing them play "The Train Kept A Rollin'" in the art film Blow Up with Page playing bass.  The music world truly lost one of it's finest members.
