Joanne Shaw Taylor: Blues From The Heart Live

Nashville, TN – April 20, 2022: KTBA Records is proud to announce blues-rock star Joanne Shaw Taylor’s first live U.S. concert film “Blues From The Heart Live” releasing on June 10, 2022. The live performance will be available as a CD/DVD and CD/Blu-Ray package and will include a collectible 24-page CD booklet.

“It was a dream gig,” recalls Taylor. The live concert was recorded and filmed at The Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee on January 20, 2022, and features incredible guest performances from Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mike Farris, and Joe Bonamassa. Public TV stations around the country have been airing a shortened version of the film for their pledge events since March to their audiences.

This historic event was Joanne’s first live performance in two years and features Rob McNelley (guitar), Steve Mackey (bass), Jimmy Wallace (keyboards, piano), Nick Buda (drums), Devonne Fowlkes (backing vocals), Kim Fleming (backing vocals), and Joanne on vocals and guitar.

The audio was produced by Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith at Blackbird Studios, Nashville, and was mixed by Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden) at The Cave, Australia. The video component includes bonus track “I’m No Angel” (not available on the CD) and also a behind the scenes featurette which includes interviews of Joanne and Joe before they took the stage.

Joe and Josh Smith produced an album for Marc Broussard.

Joe's insta posts: https://www.instagram.com/p/CeexQMcPVjI/

-" You mentioned working with blues legend Joe Bonamassa. What can we expect from that project and when?

Broussard:   It's part of the "S.O.S." series I've done over the years. We do these covers albums to raise money for charity. This project is raising money for people coming out of prison. The blues seemed right on the money for it. I called up Joe Bonamassa because he knows more about the blues than anybody I know. I said, "Hey man, I could use your help on this," and he jumped at the chance.

It's a playlist of some classic old blues tunes by Bobby "Blue" Bland, B.B. King, Bobby Womack, Sun House, Howling Wolf, Little Milton and a host of others.

We tracked it at Sunset Sound in L.A., which is where Prince recorded "Purple Rain" and "1999." Everybody from Led Zeppelin to Dan Fogelberg has tracked their hit records at this spot. It was a fantastic week. We had an incredible band. Lemar Carter on drums, who's done a bunch of stuff with Kanye (West). He was in Raphael Saadiq's band for a long time. Calvin Turner as well, Josh Smith on guitar, Jeff Babko on keys, and Joe Bonamassa laying it down with the lead.

We had about the best players you could possibly get in the studio to make this thing. Right around the New Year, you can expect to start hearing some of that stuff, and then the album will come out in January. https://www.newsweek.com/marc-broussard … ct-1717823

Extract from a review of the documentary Guitar Man:

A nice, subtle touch was to play out the closing credits with Joe’s new cover of the un-bluesy and un-rocky ballad The Guitar Man by Bread, featuring guest performer Arielle on vocals.

Does anyone know where to get a copy of this track?
