well it does remind me a lot of RCFP, Eric sits in with Joe M and an Allstar band to die for

another great solo artist, a throwback to the old timey blues. You can't get any bluer than this, reminds me a little of Keb Mo

Ben Poole & Guy Smeets - Acoustic Duo - Live (2021)
Right, Ben Poole we all know and respect in these parts, but Guy Smeets, who he? Well, believe it or not, the young Dutchman has been mentioned on the forum. about 5 or 6 years back by retlawv when he was a regular contributor (miss ya, Walter..) As it is, he and Ben have been mates for years and from the looks, share the same tattoo-gun.
Anyway, business (or disc) in hand… Last October, there was a brief window when some bands could get a short tour in over on the Continent, Ben was one such, but rather than a band show, he opted for a short acoustic tour and opportunity was right for what’s basically an old-fashioned jam with his mate Guy. Most of the tracks are from ben’s back-catalogue, Ben taking lead vocals and guitarwork skilfully split between the two (and your left & right speakers by Wayne P. esq.), then there’s a run through the Blues classic, Too Tired and a “fun” romp through Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean. Plenty of good guitar noodling to be had, but the “flamenco” section lacks crispness and I hope the lads put some Euros in the jar for the Smoke On The Water riffing.
Trifles aside, Ben & Guy spark well off each other and this works well, especially as a showcase for Guy who I hope to be looking out for over here in the near future once “Brex-Vid” passes..

always have been a big fan of Neil Young. I got to help set up for his concert in Tuscaloosa AL on the Harvest tour, Linda Ronstadt opened for him and they were both amazing. This is his country side from the 80s, the band he called the International Harvesters. It is well recorded as ACL seems to do most every time
