The Electric Blues Reaction - Tchula Junction (2010)
Picked this gem up on Friday night, again from Troy Redfern’s merch table. Must be clearing out the attic, as you can see, it’s a 10 year old remnant of Troy’s past life as guitar slinger with EBR along side Nick Smith on drums & Lead Vocals and Stuart McDonald on Bass. On first listen, remnant isn’t the right word, this is a lost treasure.
The majority of the tracks are Redfern penned, half of them being solo efforts but with the exception of Swamp Fever, it’s Smith who handles the vocals with a leather-lunged, tungsten tonsiled howl, reminiscent of rocker Doogie White (Rainbow, MSG, Yngwie Malmsteen). In fact the majority of the album absolutely rocks, dare I say, “Zeppelin-esque”, just a little lower on the register. It has to be a “Blues” album though, there’s a “train” song opening, Wrong Side of The Tracks except that Troy & harmonica guest Richard Evans sound more like a charging loco than the train soundbite opening…
When life gives you lemons; don't make lemonade.
Give back the lemons. Why were the lemons free? What's wrong with the lemons?
Do Not trust the lemons...
