Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Good luck down the home stretch.
Chaos here as the last months turned to AAA ball and a manager out the door.
Next year is hopeful, lots of talent in the minors, but they’re not ready yet.

On a side note, a pal’s son made the national U-15 team as a pitcher and went to the Pan American championships. He’s a rh pitcher. Tossed the first part of a combined shutout in the opener, then came in as relief in the championship game against Panama and got the save, striking out 4 of the 5 he faced (he plunked one). USA won the Gold Medal!

Duke Eckstrom, remember that name. An athletic family, his sister is one of the top beach volleyball players in the nation who is in her first year at Stanford on a full ride. She’s got her sights set on the Olympics.
I watched the games livestreamed on youtube from Mexico. Gotta love the inet.

First game I was taken to in the US, Twins v Indians @ Metrodome  (few years ago,  obviously)
Second (and third) D'backs v Braves @ Chase Field

It was a thing of beauty watching that big salami soar last night.
Fargin Doyers stoned out from their heady perch by the Nats no less!
When the teams take the field, all bets are off and it’s heart and desire.
I remember watching Strasberg pitch for my Aztecs alma mater when Tony Gwynn was coaching them. He was the real deal then and sure rates the highest salary in baseball he gets now. Elite as they come.
Surprises galore.
Play ball!

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

Spring training starts here this Friday, since the Royals and Rangers share the park in Surprise, there are games every day or night, the only baseball fan I work with is a 24yo Yankee fan from NY. My favorite sport is dying, "where have you gone Joe DiMaggio" sad

Yankees fan here. Let's hope the injuries are kept to a minimum. I'm getting old so I'd like to see another World Series win before I die.

Well.... I live about 2 hrs from NYC so yeah I'm a Yankees fan, but I'm also a baseball fan.... I give every player or team their due respect.

The Astros...... got off way too easy. I'll leave it at that. I hope every team destroys those cheaters.

Re: 2024 Major League Baseball season

same here, total baseball fan first. I WAS a Houston fan back in the 80s, lived there for 7 years and went to many games. I was in the Astrodome when Mike Scott threw his no hitter against SF, I swear I thought the concrete would crumble under us when he got that last out. Now I hope the Astros lose every game, total loss of respect for their organization
