R.I.P. Andreas Nikolaus "Niki" Lauda 1949 - 2019
Three-time Formula One world champion (1975, 1977 & 1984) and still ranks 9th in the table of most F1 wins (25) Niki Lauda has died at the age of 70.
The former racing driver "passed away peacefully", his family said on Monday in a statement reported by the Austria Press Agency.

Lucky to have lived that long. His horrible accident would have killed most, and led to safety changes for all drivers. A legend I loved to watch drive. Ferrari brought him out of retirement and he won for them. I saw “We miss you Niki” taped on the steering wheel of a Ferrari car in today’s q’s at Monaco.
RIP Niki.

R.I.P. Ipod.

Seems Apple is dropping the once iconic device.  Still have my Classic but play it very little.

I have well over 20,000 songs in my computer's library, but signed up for Apple streaming music a few months ago and doubt I'll look back.  I can still remember many here who only buy CDs and now the fashionable retro vinyl recordings.  I admire that thinking but I just don't have the time or storage space.

It's nice now to listen to my music through my phone, HomePod or computer and I can listen to just about everything.  Just buy some high quality earbuds, headphones or speakers and you're on your way.

I've thought about creating a thread on this subject, but the verdict is still out.

Re: R.I.P. Thread

Roger Kynard Erikson, one of the pioneers of psychedlic type music from the 70s, the 13th Floor Elevators....... but he also went on to make several solo albums and others with the alternate band The Aliens. I never really got used to the jug sound they they had going, most if not all of his solo stuff did not have the jug thing going. He passed on May 31, I just heard about it today   RIP Roky

Thanks RoadcaseBoy for the notice.  Dr John was a gifted musician and singer.  As much as I love Bruce I don't think his version's too convincing compared to the original.  Not southern Nawlins enough I'd say.

Also would like to say RIP to Leon Redbone, who passed as well this week.  He fell into that same unique category of entertainers as Dr John.

Re: R.I.P. Thread

I last saw Dr. John at the King of the Blues finals at the Nokia Center in LA. He played with Joe’s band as a special guest. It was memorable, and Dr. John was a treat.
Dr. John’s music was part of my life. I’d seen him a number of times.
Rick.
