Just put them in.  Compared to the BurstBuckers that came in the 1960 Reissue, the JBs seem to be a bit warmer and a little lower output.  Liking them a lot.  Running them through nothing but the 2555 and a DD-3.

My wife surprised me with a used set yesterday!

Since they were used and just came together in the box, how do I tell the neck from the back pickup?

been a while since I've looked at mine. don't believe they have any markings on them (re: R vs T)
you'll have to measure the DC resistance.
the Neck PU will be higher in Ohms then the Neck PU

Yes, Seymour's initial submission error with pair of neck pickups (#69 and #70) and resubmitted after the bridge (#70).
There are two neck pickups with the same code #69.
