It'd be nice to see an official reply from JB like: "haha that's funny AND untrue." or "yes, the rumors leaked and I'm looking into buying Gibson or a major part of it."

Its obviously a dig at Joe because of his over the top buy all historic  guitar guitar stuff he can.

Although the thought came to me that Joe should start his own guitar manufacturing

Why get involved?  He knows his tastes, and he shops the best confectioners, old, and new ones he sometimes tells what kind of adult flavored sprinkles to add on top!
On the other hand........, the one that can be picky but usually doesn’t fret, strumming a superb instrument might be because of it’s complete, or at least reasonable facsimile of uniqueness.............and explicit limited availability.  Not snobbish, but art and science at the crossroads together, single builder ride along...

No need to make big money.  Retirement mini-hustle?!
