Re: Bona-Trivia

I don't know,  my dear forum friends. I have a feeling that Joe is gone for good from here, just moved on ( or maybe will do a little Christmas neutral message here or something like that ). He is growing so rapidly as a musician, I am sure his audience has tripled or more even since last year, especially after his Blues of Desperation album. He probably just doesn't have time to keep up with all his social media demands. Think about his life - he is 100 times busier then most of us, especially emotionally and creatively.
He is on vacation right now - and what is he doing? - writing a new album!  for us!  Don't ask him come back here and post. I am absolutely sure he is always remembering about this place, especially about those fans that go years back with him and know where he started and seen him live many many times. Lets let him know that we love him unconditionally ( and I know we all do )

Ok and now- *reo's logic and practicality mode on*  - how many people actually read here - 200 -1000 hard core fans ( for life ). And his inst and FB posts - millions! With everything that is going on in the country and in the world many people are seeking refuge in music and on that path are discovering Joe. Again - his audience is growing exponentially. Where are they gong to go as fans - here? - certainly not. And he is attracting much younger people right now, especially in Europe, and they are on inst, and even that feels ancient to them. ( interesting statistics done: on any SM posts - 10% read, 1% likes, 0.1% comments smile so so true for anybody)

Writing on this forum requires time and energy. He gives out a lot of it on tour, and he does need time to recharge, spend time with his family, girlfriend, friends.
Think about him, not about yourself. I know you love and respect him enough to do it.

Re: Bona-Trivia

While I don't think I can exactly articulate what the actual point is....I can say I think you're missing it reo.
I don't disagree with your assessment...and I know I can speak for the others that we only wish Joe to do what he wants and is able to, but this place is a deeper river......and its a valid observation that its different without Joe. Why, I think we'd be remiss and disrespectful to not recognize it! Missing him and acknowledging his absence is not the same as asking him to post...

I wish i didn't feel somewhat that we did something wrong too...to not get a once in a while visit here. I know in the past I have said things that Joe didn't like or set me straight on (and said stuff that got misinterpreted too). Heck I learned much about sticking up for what you feel is right here from Joe. One of the things I admire about him!!

Its not about asking Joe to do something tedious or to take him away from life, not.at.all!..... I think he used to be one of the most hooked at this place.....I'm glad he is able to carry on otherwise...I am not so strong wink

We'll go on as long as they let us. Nobody loves Joe like his forum.....but we can be jiving too! big_smile

Rock n Roll!!!!!!!

Re: Bona-Trivia

I've been thinking about it today Jane and you are right about one thing: there is one very major part that I am overlooking about Bonaforum people. Many of you have met him in person, been talking to him in real life or interacting with him in post - reply type of conversation. I can only dream about how special those real conversations might have felt. And why people are missing it and want it back. And here am I theoreticizing  about something I really have know idea about. Sorry for my misinterpretation of your and Konkmans posts. And I can truly understand and share the "I miss Joe" feelings.

And thank you Jane for reading my "shooting in the air" posts and talking to me. It means so much to me, I can't be thankful enough. Hope to meet you one day and talk to you in person.

On his father’s side, Joe is the grandson of Leonard D. Bonamassa, Sr. (the son of Dominick “Buddha” Bonamassa and Girloma “Mae” LoPresti). Both Dominick and Girloma’s parents were Italian, likely from Calabria. Girloma was the daughter of Stefano LoPresti and Caterina Arcona.

I think I will take a pass on posting the next trivia question. Don't have enough knowledge of the subject matter. What do I know, still a Bonababy...

Re: Bona-Trivia

if reo doesn't mine me stepping in to put this B-T Thread back into the Actives smile ...

What was Joe's first track to be offered for purchase on iTunes?

"I was in Space for less than 2 weeks … and suddenly Jeaniene’s back … half the Band is off the gd wagon … we have comedians opening for us … and the nice kid that ran our website is now a kleptof’nmaniac.  Boy ... did you guys miss me!!"  Phil Valentine - Road Manager - Staton House Band

JBLP#251 (unaged) ... thank you Ron.

Re: Bona-Trivia

on first thought...wasn't sure but You and Me came to mind
upon investigating slightly...thought i was correct but then i uncovered some info
and i am going to say
Blues For Bozo

if you meant just a Joe song...idk
the info I found above mentioned  the whole album....I'm wondering if maybe the first song was Asking Around For You?

wow!! ... ding! ding! ding!

I was intentionally a little vague ... "Joe's first track to be offered" ... I personally first would have thought a track as part of an upcoming Joe release ... but you are correct!!

Although Joe had a couple of solo Albums released to date ... his track from Bozo & Pals was Joe's first appearance for purchase on iTunes (along with the entire Bozo Album).  (Source: Pick Up Radio)

Well done Jane H. smile

Re: Bona-Trivia

Yay! good question
I got lucky ...don't recall hearing it on PickUp radio (miss that so.....) but never listened to all episodes yet i don't think.
Anyway i did have a vague recollection that maybe You and Me was first and thats around when this version of the forum started so the forum search did serve me well and luckily someone had posted about Blues for Bozo.
BTW they did mispell Joe's name on the first printing of the cd...I have one of those versions and corrected ones too.
#getdownwiththeclown

I'll try to think up another question but please feel free to jump in anytime anyone who has a question!
Thanks for keeping it alive RoadcaseBoy! smile

Re: Bona-Trivia

I tried the new Bonatrivia game from the newsletter.
It gave one question then it wanted me to share on facebook twitter or email so I tried email and said I got 0 out of 1 so I guess I guessed the number of guitars Joe owns wrong......I'll be interested to see what the next questions are and how it works. I didn't actually share so I don't know if I still get to play but it said you could win things or get discounts....
