That's two tracks with Joe playing an SG. Is it a new trend?

Always the right tool for the tune.

I have listened to it 3 times. Sad to say I am underwhelmed by it so far.

Record of the week on Ken Bruce's show on BBC Radio 2 this week...

Thanks for sharing Kenny.I was hoping this was going to be the album that could really bring their talents to a higher level and achieve what I feel they hadn’t done yet.
But I will reserve that until I get the listen in.Music is so subjective sometimes so you never know how your going feel about an album until you absorb it fully.
I like the first two studio albums but they never got me Like Joes solo,BCC Or RCFP.Now I thought most likely that was due to my preference in genres of music.
Given the talents I was thinking it would jump to that next level sometime.
It seems they have found comfort in soul and r&b.I guess for both of them a blues or rock album would be more redundant to their primary material so I see why they stay where they are at.
Happy Birthday to wonderful Beth Hart!
Love the new album. So good! Instantly bonded with "Joy" - there is something so catchy about it And my favorite truck so far " Lullaby of the Leaves". Beautiful, just beautiful... Beth' s voice, Joe's soloing create such a mesmerizing synergy.
When I listened to Black Coffee...
I thought it'd be better with cream and sugar

? ? Just a joke or not impressed ?
So two different bonus tracks but you have to spend almost 60 to get both. One through the vinyl and one through the cd box set unless I’m missing something. Not a fan of that. Don’t mind them when they are all on one source like the Different Shades Best Buy cd.
Really digging the samples on iTunes. Just have to debate about which set I’m going to get.
Actually no.
Sum of the players are great but just seemed to leave me with cold coffee and waiting something more.

I keep listening to "Black Coffee" and with each listen love it more, and more, and more. Joy, joy joy, joy>>>! Definitely going to be for me right next to "Live in Amsterdam" if not higher.
I have now had a chance for two complete listens and I really do like it.I like it the best out of the 3 studio albums.I think because of the song selection.Seems more bluesy and more fast paced overall.
To me everything is top notch.
Of course if it was me I would actulally like to hear the band stretch out a few more times with solos.
I know it’s all based on Beth’s vocals and I get it.Just seems to me there were spots I wanted Joe to continue playing a bit longer and Reese too!
Beth Hart and Joe!!!!!!!!!!!!! June 16 2018 Crossroads Festival, Loreley
cool...looks like separate sets though but surely they'll have to do some songs together....
I wonder if any other fests will have similar line up...
There is a few of us on here going to Hampton Court on 12 June so here's hoping.......
