RIP J. Geils
http://www.sfexaminer.com/rip-j-geils/  John Warren Geils Jr., founder of The J. Geils Band (which hit the charts in the 1980s with “Centerfold” and “Love Stinks”) was found dead in his home on Tuesday in Groton, Mass. He was 71.

Police, responding to a home for a well-being check, found the guitarist unresponsive. Groton Police Chief Donald Palma said foul play is not suspected, and a preliminary investigation indicates he died of natural causes.

Re: R.I.P. Thread

damn, very sad that we lost another great comedian today in Charlie Murphy, brother to Eddie, of leukemia at age 57. He was just brilliant on the Chappelle Show skits with Dave playing Prince and Rick James, and others......RIP Charlie, make em smile on the other side

I saw it before they the pulled the video.  There were a few others also.  It looked like everyone was having a great time in them.  What a way to go, too!  Bunch of friends jamming with you, digging it, celebrating YOUR existence, and unfortunately,...

I mean this in a very respectful manner, not a joke-it looks like The Good Lord turned on a Love Light to be left on.

Bizarre? Coinkydink? Foreordained?!  Makes you think at the very least.

Rest In Peace, Cousin Tim. 14 years ago.

Funniest man alive those 45 years.

Looked like a combination of Bill Murray (and always funnier than him even) and Phil Collins. roll

Re: R.I.P. Thread

This death is a hard one in so many different ways, now that its been confirmed a suicide. Actually made me think of Robin Williams.

I don't know everything, for sure, but what I do know in the big picture, drug and alcohol ruin people's lives and families. I've read some scientific info stating how drugs/alcohol abuse rewires your brain.  So many addicts fight an uphill battle trying to stay clean.
Its very sad to suffer like that, especially when the individual started using because they were self-medicating and suffered from depression, etc.  So much research left to do on the brain.

Last saw Chris Cornell on his acoustic tour, it was great. RIP
