Topic: Favorite Joe Official video performances

Well, I've lost count (a little help someone) of all of the Joe Bonamassa official videos (actually just being pretend lazy and/or afraid of forgetfulness) released, but how about some thoughts of those of you able to really narrow down to your favorite one TRACK, not favorite DVD!!!

Somebody please list them all, even if you cannot list your favorite from each one.  Then others-take it away!!!

Takin' the Hit from Rockpalast. When he and Eric Czar get going they both give a 'clinic' on their particular instruments. I try to crank the stereo to 'live' volume when I'm alone and it is just beyond words. There are lots of other good video performances but this one will stick in my head forever.

Just Got Paid and Mountain Time from the first RAH concert.
Still IMO the classic encore and I was lucky enough to be in the audience that evening.

Love "Taking the Hit"! Listened to it a million times.
And it is so interesting with this concert - I just need to watch the whole thing, like to do it so much more then separate videos. Has such a fascinating and pulling you in energy buildup.

Re: Favorite Joe Official video performances

Enjoying your questions Rocket ... (still have to do my 12 Audio Tracks.)

Thought immediately of Rockpalast and RAH video tracks when I first read your Thread question.

JGP is a logical selection ... and my apologies ... I may be a bit more obvious here as well ...

... but the last 50 seconds of JGP - RAH ... and specifically the 3 seconds of Joe ... when Joe wasn't fretting a note ... standing high atop on the rack case ... shot from behind ... spotlight making a silhouette ... the band's crescendo ... his V held up high over his head ... that was THE video moment ... all before led up to that ... and all since has grown from that. (IMHO)

And since I heard it was today ... in 1958 ... (2/21/1958) ... that the first Gibson Flying V shipped from Kalamazoo, Mich. ... I'm going with that. smile

"I was in Space for less than 2 weeks … and suddenly Jeaniene’s back … half the Band is off the gd wagon … we have comedians opening for us … and the nice kid that ran our website is now a kleptof’nmaniac.  Boy ... did you guys miss me!!"  Phil Valentine - Road Manager - Staton House Band

JBLP#251 (unaged) ... thank you Ron.

Yes!!! JGP from RAH - so amazing! Was one of his first videos I've watched, since it comes up on youtube right away. Remember myself being completely in awe and mesmerized by it, repeating it over and over. And you have to realize that I've never listened to Led Zeppelin, ZZtop, White Snake etc ( none of my friends listened to that old music ) so it was completely new and unexpected to me. I knew about Theremin since our physics teacher at school had one smile

Re: Favorite Joe Official video performances

ok....here's my stab at all the videos.  A few disclaimers to start:  no guarantee I have caught all of the video releases.  This does represent all that I own.  so, hopefully it is a complete list.  This is also not in chronological order.  Just the order I had them on the shelf.  The last disclaimer is the same one I gave on the Joe's top 12 thread.  It is incredibly difficult to pick one performance form each of these.  It would probably change for me daily and I am sure I could do multiple of these lists each featuring a different performance I love from each release.  But...here is today's list:

Rockpalast - takin' the hit
ANDY live - I know where I belong
Royal Albert Hall - Ballad of John Henry
Beacon Theatre - Steal Your Heart Away
Vienna Opera House - Driving Towards the Daylight
TDF Borderline - Pain and Sorrow
TDF Shepherd's Bush Empire - Chains and Things
TDF Hammersmith - Tea For One
TDF Royal Albert Hall - Midnight Blues
Live in Amsterdam ( with Beth Hart) - I'd Rather Go Blind
Muddy Wolf - Spoonful
Live @ Radio City Music Hall - Love Ain't a Love Song
Live @ the Greek Theatre - Angel of Mercy
BCC Live over Europe - One Last Soul
RCFP Live @ Iridium - One Phone Call

Enjoy

Re: Favorite Joe Official video performances

Some people have the fortitude to ask the difficult questions.
Rocket on the other hand has the nerve to ask the "impossible to answer" questions!

Like many people probably did, I let the question sink in, and in about 15 seconds video images started popping into my head, but I couldn't stop at one.
The first one: The Great Flood from RAH 1
Then:
Chains and Things - SB TDF
Midnight Blues - Beacon
How Many More Years - Muddy Wolf
Some Other Day, Some Other Time - Greek Theater
