Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

TV PSA - Bonnie Raitt on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight Monday 8/29/16

Assuming this is the outdoor mini-concert that was taped a couple days before Joe was on Kimmel last month.  If my memory serves correct, they broadcast one full song at the end of the show and then part of a song plays the show out.  Some songs (if not the whole mini-concert) end up online.

(When I first heard Joe was going to be on Kimmel, I naively assumed he was doing one of these outdoor mini-concerts & I was beyond excited, b/c even if I wasn't able to get tix & get in to the actual concert, my understanding of the set-up is that one only needs to be in the nearby vicinity of the JKL parking lot to enjoy the concert. And, knowing Joe plays loud... wink  (It's a free show, so I'd feel no ethical qualm doing this.)  I was also so excited for Joe that he was gonna get that kind of exposure.  Anyway, we know how it turned out last month.  I hold out hope that Joe & band will do one of these JKL outdoor mini-concerts--maybe next summer?) smile

So much music, so little time!

Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

I will be tuned in to Jimmy.

Bonnie's show in Philly this past Friday was fantastic!!  I recently saw Bonnie interviewed by Charlie Rose. Charlie asked her how she felt about BB King saying she is the BEST slide player out there.  A priceless compliment for sure.

Bonnie's new album is fab, "Dig In Deep".

Yeah you can watch the mini concert (lasts about 45 minutes) through the fence. We were on holiday there in 2008 and won tickets to see Billy Idol. However they wouldn't let my wife in cos of her handbag. She was told to leave it in the car (no car) or in the hotel (miles away). They would just not listen to our plight. Anyway she went shopping and I saw the concert.

Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

I feel asleep on the couch waiting for Bonnie to perform, however here is a clip from Kimmel's site.

This is the second song on Bonnie's new CD, "Need You Tonight".  I like the way she says...You're one of my kind...Something about you, boy...That makes me sweat... tongue

This is an interview from a few weeks ago on Charlie Rose.

And Tavis Smiley interview.

Bonnie mentions in the Charlie interview and at the show in Philly this past Friday how much she loves Alabama Shakes!
