The Graffiti like written Joe Bonamassa should give more contrast in the registered version. The letters should be more or maybe completely black.
The letters are not optimally composed. The J of Joe could be read as an T too. I would replace it by another more plain/clear one.

As JBWM admin said you can select the theme from your profile settings.
I checked out the 4 available. out of the 4, the old one does seem the best but I have switched to the Jamesross Black/Red version as JBWM has.
took a few minutes to get used to with the Guitar Icons that are black when unread and grey when red.
Maybe the can make the Unread posts guitar Icons a brighter colour like Red so it stands out that you haven't read that particular thread yet.
even on my phone the Jamesross theme seems to work.
why all the focus on forum colours and look when the work being done should be on function? This forum is years out of date in comparison to many others, - the ability to “like” a thread, to thank the person with an emoticon sort of thing. - It needs to get more web3.0 function, not a frigin colour change! Moan over.

So to answer everyone's questions (especially Jane H. She actually sent a note that got to my email and I hope she reads this)
Yep, we're currently playing around with some styling and James Ross thought that a black/red would be more "rock & roll" - but we specifically did the change in a way that wouldn't affect anyone that was logged in as we stand by our statement that we know this is a "home" to a lot of fans and it's not our intention to do anything but make things better.
I'm reading loud and clear that many of you don't like the colors so I'm going to work with them to make things much closer to the current theme and just improve on it rather than a drastic change.
I am also glad that you guys pointed out the missing username issue, as I don't think James Ross even knows about this. Chances are that the names are all still there, it's just the same color writing on the same color background which makes them look like they're missing.
Ok, so now on to Spam posts. I want to see what happens when someone reports these, which email gets notified that they've been flagged. It very well might be going to an email that's not usually checked. I'll make sure to figure this out as Spam is kind of a personal tick for me and typically when you encounter spam on the Internet you're powerless to it... but in this one instance I actually can combat it... assuming you all would be nice enough to flag it as it comes in that is!

Scott, Reported posts were only visible when logged in to the forum. No email sent that I am aware of. Everyone here is good about reporting spam posts somebody just needs to check in to see the reports. This place pretty much runs itself with the exception of occasional spam which seems to be pretty sporadic as of late.

First question, have you logged in at all from your phone and home computer and any other device? All of them. I recommend this to everyone. It is odd that those who have not registered are seeing (presumably) only the faults mentioned. I can imagine their surprise registering to find this beautiful white and blue highly readable presentation being displayed!
Perhaps an archiving is taking place during an operating system or software install, upgrade, maintenance regiment, or complete or version change...
Guess we hang and comment in the meantime. SPEAK UP, especially if new user.

It's better as I now can see the names for the posts.But not the avatar or number of members post.This is on my phone.I went on the home computer and it worked normal.So there must be something different using a mobile device?

This has nothing to do with the new forum theme but rather about the new website theme. Overall the new website looks nice - but unfortunately the link button to find this place has been buried under "fans." I believe this happened a few years ago on the old website until enough complaints were lodged that the "Forum" button was given its own place back. At the time there was a lot of us that were afraid the forum was in the process of disappearing. This place has been slow enough lately and I am very much concerned that making it harder to find for those who don't know about it will cause a further slowdown or even its demise. Although I do get some of my Joe info from FB I still much prefer this place - lots of nice people and it seems to do a pretty good job of keeping all the trolls out.

I don't use FB. That's going back to the walled garden approach that companies like AOL tried. Unfortunately FB might have the inertia to succeed at it, but I won't be there.

Wow, that does look different. I agree with Sandy, the forum should have it's own button. People these days don't take time to look for things and if it's not in front of their face, they won't find it. I'm also finding it takes forever to load both the forum and the official website. It spins for ages before anything comes up. Is there too much stuff going on now that slows it down?
edit. And they might want to fix the tour schedule page. They have the Australia shows section listed twice, once as a fall tour which is correct and a second time as a Spring tour with Fall dates. And they also have the Fall & Spring US tour listed twice as well. Makes it look like Joe is doing a gazillion shows, lol
Not a fan of "Official Forum" now being buried under "Fans" on the new cartoonish looking web site. Good luck finding that. Out of sight, out of mind I guess.
Just had a look at the main site.
I actually prefer the new design, there was too much information on the old home page, this is neater and looks more professional.
I have also got used to the new layout of the forum, although I still find the red banners a bit harsh, shame we can't customise the colour scheme.

I'm very much in agreement with Lester but do think a separate button for the forum link should be present. 
I'm not too fussed about the "Red, Black and White format - as it reminds me of my Football Clubs first team colours!

I haven't done an exhaustive search around the new site but I found the forum in about 5 seconds. I like the fan pic page. It's fun to look at. I'm going with a thumbs up!
For some reason the forum looks the same to me logged in but logged out it is red. I went to the home page recently and really like the updated format.
