Topic: Keeping the Blues Alive

So, I am taking my 9 year old son to Joe's May 10th show in Davenport, IA.  Other than The Fresh Beat Band, this will be his first concert.  Now, I've seen a ton of bands over the years, including Joe three times, and never once popped for seats up close.  Well, I did this time.  I figured Joe will probably ruin my son for any future concerts in his life, so I might as well really blow his mind by sitting close enough to see Principal Skinner on Joe's strap.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed, that by some chance, Joe looks down and sees a kid in the 2nd row staring back at him in awe.  That's about all I can think of to really say "Thank You" to Joe for what he does.....by passing his music down to a new generation!

That would be super cool, but I'm sure my son would be thrilled with a nod.

Jelly Roll ... Great story in the Davenport, IA show Thread.

Priceless!

"I was in Space for less than 2 weeks … and suddenly Jeaniene’s back … half the Band is off the gd wagon … we have comedians opening for us … and the nice kid that ran our website is now a kleptof’nmaniac.  Boy ... did you guys miss me!!"  Phil Valentine - Road Manager - Staton House Band

I told my son on the way back to Normal last night, "Son, other than the births of you and your sister, marrying your mom, and going to The White House....tonight fell right in line with the top epic things in my life."  Simply an epic night!

great story Jelly Roll. sounds like you are Keeping the Blues Alive by passing it on to your Mother (M-I-L?) too - I saw Granny Fan's post n the review section. Props for both smile and one of the most awesome avatars ever smile

That's mom alright....her and my father are both huge fans.  They were there along with my older brother too.  That just added to the memories!  I must say, I can't think of too many musicians who have fans in the crowd literally spanning three generations!
