Topic: New forum theme...??

Hmm, I wonder if the site admins are playing with new themes for the forum??  I came in this morning for a casual look around and noticed a brand new very heavy, dark black and red theme on the forum.

There were some issues such as member names not being displayed clearly in the threads, so I went ahead and logged in to comment about this, and as soon as I logged in, lo and behold, the old clean blue and white theme was back!

Anyone else experienced this?

EDIT: Just confirmed - if I log out, I get the rather heavy dark theme (which I am not a fan of).  If I log in, I get the original theme... smile

And when you leave to check out the new style it looks like you read all the new posts when you come back.  Not nice.

I have never had a problem accessing the forum from my phone.  And though I love the color red I don't like to read red.  And I want to see names - always.

- you would hope that whoever made the decision to use red as a background would know that it one of the worst colours to use, - very bad for dyslexic people I believe.

Not a big fan of the red, heavy gray, and black combo.  It has such a "heaviness" to it. sad

The red, black and grey is very distracting to the eyes as well as all those little guitars marching down the page. It was much cleaner and easier to read when blue and white. This place is feeling less like home. Ever since Jim M got booted as moderator for no apparent reason, spam has been coming in left and right. Instead of trying to make this house glitzy they should instead concentrate on keeping the spam out and cleaning up those useless threads. Just my 2 cents.

I have to say when logged in things look soooooomuch better. Who designed the black and red thing? Man! that is one ugly web site. I can create a better site in straight HTML if any of the mods want... no charge. At least it will have an opening page of a cool Joe picture and colors that make some sense. Seriously ugly red and black thing.... we can do better.

Personally I don't care what colors the forum ends up with, I wont complain. The site is free and it belongs to Joe, so I consider myself a guest, and a guest shouldn't complain about the host's choices.

The new website is the ugliest one I know. The evaluation process has a lot to improve. Never change a winning team. If,  you have to make it better. Each color psychologist would complain and sing a song of desperation...The names of the poster/avatars are a must have.

Yeah, Anna.  I'm like, wtf?!  What did "they" do, decide to move to sWindlers 10???!!! neutral

The best color scheme was just prior to the 2006 to present iteration of The Joe Bonamassa Forum, in I think two contrasting yet complementary schemes (versions of a different, more unwieldly format, however, which had their run) was blue, white, and red...

Not to be interpreted as a huge grumble by me, just supporting others feelings...

Why mess with a good thing  sad Reminds me of a couple years ago with the bozo's that started the other site.Webmasters bring back Jim
