Re: Joe Bonamassa master torrent thread

Hi Matt - Welcome to the Dime club ... as said before BEWARE!! .. it can get very addictive.

You should enjoy my Mr Kyps recording as IMO it is like being back at the gig (except without the pushing & shoving). Unfortunately I missed attending the addtional JB Kyps show from a few days before so that one has been lost forever.

No it wasn't me who recorded the BBC tracks (I just gave the heads up on this forum).

Currently on Dime there are many great JB shows you could go for (just but be careful with your share ratio .. keep it above 0.25):

In fact someone posted a new, full version of the shepherds bush show on Dime in flac format just recently (as noted by DKnight16 above) :

Re: Joe Bonamassa master torrent thread

Cool, yeah i've managed to get those tracks form shepherds bush, theres still a few that haven't been releaed yet, it would be great to get the full show especially as it was recorded by BBC but i can only hope.

Yeah i'd like to do my part and keep my raito up but what do i do as thres no one else downlading the Kyps gig so can only downlaod it and will end up with a ratio of 0.00 at the end. Btw ho exactly does it track how much i upload and downlaod? Does it match the ip's from what i used to downlaod the file to what i use to torrent with?

Matt

Re: Joe Bonamassa master torrent thread

You have until you reach 5GB downloaded before they look for a ratio of 0.25 (i.e uploaded 1.25GB minimum by the time you reach 5GB). Therefore you will be OK finishing the Kyps show which is only 618KB even if you upload 0KB.

Make sure that any other torrents you join still have plenty of leechers, which will enable you to upload a fair amount. Keep your eye out for new shows you are interested in so that you join the torrent early. A ratio of 0.25 should be quite easy to achieve but you may need to keep your PC connected to Dime 24/7 .. I think most of us do!!!

You could always start a torrent of one of your own shows (after a month's membership I think) if you need to build up your ratio (but make sure it is not officially released).

They track your upload & download via your personal login, not by your IP addess. So if you have access to more than 1 PC you can build up your ratio that way too.
You can see your ratio on the top right of the Dime page (yours is currently 0.00)

Cheers - Steve

Re: Joe Bonamassa master torrent thread

Just wanted to say that I am very excited to see Joe in Dallas this Sunday.  It is the 13th annual Stevie Ray Vaughn Remembrance Show.  I have seen Joe many times and it never seams to get old.  I cannot wait.  I just hope that Shuler does not get in the way of greatness.  Joe welcome to Texas again.  Cannot wait to see you Sunday.

Oh my good God. What have I stumbled on here?

I'll have to get that extra HD now.

Have started with Mr. Kyps and Shepherds Bush. Thanks guys, this had made my day!

Can anyone recommend the best/easiest flac converter available for free?

Re: Joe Bonamassa master torrent thread

Amsterhammer:  I've posted a few "how-to's" on this site as I was originally introduced to BitTorrent files by a nice taper in Boston who seeded one or two Joe shows.

I like DBPoweramp, it's easy to use and I've hardly ever had any problems with it, you can download it at http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

I have FLAC Front-End, but you kind of need some familiarity with DOS to use it and I've had issues, though it was on my old computer which was probably dying.  The trick with the BitTorrent files is to jump on the torrent a little while after it's posted when there are already many people who have finished downloading it and are still online sharing, the more "seeds", the faster the downloads go.  I just downloaded a Gov't Mule show (roughly 3 hours) in about an hour last night, there were over 100 seeders and I topped out at about 700 MBPS download speed...killer when you can ride a rocket like that, but also worth waiting for some that are less popular.

Good luck and post here or drop me an email through the site if you need some help with the conversion process....it's well worth the hassle of learning how :-)

Re: Joe Bonamassa master torrent thread

Thanks for the dbpoweramp, CarljMD. Took no time to download and instal and worked a treat - fast too.

I'm familiar with torrents and will therefore make a point of getting in early on the next one to improve my sad ratio on dimeadozen.

I already grabbed this one. It says "One Of These Days" on the set list, but it is "High Water Everywhere".

Good question Bill. I just listened to that one track to find out if it was "One Of These Days" and that was on my tiny laptop speaker so it's hard to say. I hear a lot of crowd chatter, maybe more than on most recordings, but too early for me to completely judge it.

Re: Joe Bonamassa master torrent thread

I should have some of my recordings up by this coming weekend.  Milwaukee turned out good, although the hall was a bit "boomy" in regards to the acoustics.
