Re: How's the Weather Where You Are?

Strong winds today accompanied by showers.  Should get better towards the end of the week.

Re: How's the Weather Where You Are?

Well, the El Nino, which is a record breaker, has started to produce the predicted deluge for Southern California. High winds, heavy rain and snow in the local mountains so far with the expected flooding, mudslides and stupid folks seeing if their car can ford that flooded area. No it can't!
I've notched about 3 inches in my coastal back yard since Monday and the heaviest rains come in February and March when these conditions occur. More of this is stacked up and coming in with predictions for another inch or so today. Lucky my home is on high ground with good drainage. So far just one leaky window seal that couldn't deal with horizontal rain driven by 40 knot gales. We even had a tornado warning in San Diego yesterday but it didn't touch down.
Start construction on the Ark.

Re: How's the Weather Where You Are?

Were on our seventh named storm of the winter and since I came back from the States in October it has done nothing but rain and flood. We certainly need the Ark first. lol

Re: How's the Weather Where You Are?

wacky, cold one week and warm the next, with or without rain. We endured record highs over the holidays, and had some fairly severe flooding although not as bad as some midwest areas......more rain coming tonight but at least temperatures have stabilized for now. That is nuts to have a tornado warning in San Diego, just defies all logic.

Yeah. They put out a blast for folks to seek shelter and there is no shelter. The tv showed a bunch of govt. workers standing in an underground parking garage, which is the best we have. Bizarre scenario for us to have but I saw a vid of one up near Fresno. Cellars don't exist here.

Re: How's the Weather Where You Are?

I'll give it a tickle for the spammers.
El Nino storms have been busy here. The big hurricane force gale last month took off a third of my roof shingles. I patched it myself  with a bit of work. Yesterday another storm hit and took off another dozen shingles and my car's windshield glass that was hit by flying debris. I think a waterspout came ashore in one of the big thunderstorms and hit us. Crazy banging and crashing for a minute or two. Lucky no flooding since most of the heavy rain hit up North where they do need it for drought relief.
Off to the roof again today. This is getting old.

Re: How's the Weather Where You Are?

It's been unseasonably warm here in the Chicago area.
Today is overcast and the temps are going to be in the low 50's (F).
Storms blowing thru later in the afternoon, but all in all nice weather for mid March!

I live in Oregon, so it's pretty much 45 degrees and raining all the time... When I retire, I'm moving someplace warm ! Our weather up here is so bad, it gives us "seasonal affective disorder" or sad for short. Actually, the summers are great...It's just the other 9 months....

We've got that aplenty. Maybe a bit more hot and dry than you want. No crowds there. http://www.desertusa.com/borrego/du_borregosprings.html

Re: How's the Weather Where You Are?

Still relatively pleasant temperature wise, but the winds are crazy...30-40mph with gusts up to 55mph!
Nearly ripped the car door out of my hand when I opened it.
