Re: Anyone else miss the Marshalls??

I definitely miss his Marshall based rig. His RAH and Tour de Force tone is my favourite.

Re: Anyone else miss the Marshalls??

I've said in a couple other threads I miss the older rigs. I think my favorite thing about the other rig is the "wall of dull" as he has referred to it as in the past. The amount of power and the violin like quality to the tone really stood out. Now Joe has said many people thought that the Fender rig from muddy wolf sounded bigger, but I'm sure it's subjective to different people.

One part of the tone I miss is the wet effects, delay, reverb all that. Now I've heard it called talent boost from Mike Hickey in some of the newer rig rundowns. I mean there is a truth to his statement but Joe is at a level of guitar playing that I think he ascends that.

As I've also said before I like the Fender rig in a different way. Joe really can squeeze every ounce of mojo from the amps. But as a preference I think nothing beats the original tonesi.
