Topic: Vox AC15cc1 problem

Ok got to ask this question to my fellow gear heads....

The other day I plugged in my guitar to my Vox AC15cc1 and when I hit the standby switch, there was a loud scratching noise and then the amp went silent.  I can see at least 2 tubes glowing but I get nothing out of it.  Before I start taking it apart or having someone look at it.  Anyone have any quick thoughts based upon experience on what the trouble could be?

Re: Vox AC15cc1 problem

I would look first at the tubes. You say that you see a few glowing but they all have to be. That amp has 2 EL84's and 2 12AX7's in it. Fact is the glow is the heater circuit and even if that is working doesn't mean the tube is good. Those amps run pretty hot so check those tubes.
