Topic: Joe's new adventure

Joe posted this on Facebook yesterday. I'm a low tech kind of woman, lol, but I think this involves an app?

So I signed up for this Periscope thing after getting a coupon in the mail and a free subscription to The Daily Geek! So TOMORROW at 5 pm West Coast time 8 pm on the East I will be broadcasting Live from Nerdville CA. Come join me for a glass of diet coke and some good ole fashion nerd talk.. Hope to see you there.
Thanks
Joe

Re: Joe's new adventure

It can only be used on mobile devices, not computers. But if Joe puts a link to it on twitter then I can see it on the computer via twitter. Hope he does this so we can see it. I don't have a smartphone.

Re: Joe's new adventure

The iOS app says iPod touch and iPad work too. The same may be true for android tablets.

So if you have a tablet device, that could work also.

Can you just follow @Periscope on twitter?

If he tags @periscope it could probably happen. If Joe puts a link on twitter then I think you can watch it as well, plus he supposedly could also just tap the bird icon before he starts so that it goes to twitter. Seems like there are a number of ways to get it to twitter so all can watch it whether they have mobile devices or not.

Re: Joe's new adventure

Please pay attention to the Europeans who have to work that day. Perhaps you can do it a little bit earlier...???

Re: Joe's new adventure

Phil got it to work on his phone. Here is the link to the broadcast that just ended. Pretty cool. Just wish we could have figured out how to watch it on the bigger computer screen instead of huddling around a small phone.

I think the broadcasts are available to view for a somewhat limited time and then they disappear

Re: Joe's new adventure

That was a blast listening to Joe answer questions....hope he likes it enough to keep doing it....and thanks for the link so I could enjoy (I don't have a smart phone either)

It was fun - and yes it is fast.  Sucks getting older.

Lol! Yeah, it does move fast! Thanks Joe for doing that video. It was so much fun watching your broadcast. Can't wait to see the next one! Just a suggestion, you might want to try turning your phone sideways next time, it can record in the horizontal mode. Then we can see the whole guitar at once and both of your hands on the strings. We love watching both your hands in action as much as the guitar geeks wink

Joe, thanks a lot for doing this!  What fun.  You did a marvelous job talking, playing and reading all those comments all at once!

Please keep doing these, very special to us.

Re: Joe's new adventure

I rewatched the broadcast and I just have to say again how much I love it because it shows the Joe we know and love. He's so down to earth here, just a guy who absolutely loves not just playing guitars but talking about them. Plus he has such a wonderful sense of humor and dry wit. I love when he messes with people and says things with such a straight face and people totally believe him. One of the funniest parts of the broadcast was when he talked about getting a coupon in the mail for periscope and someone commented, "I love coupons!" I totally cracked up. As if Periscope is sending out coupons. It's hilarious. All those haters out there need to watch these broadcasts so they would get a better idea of who Joe really is, a funny, down to earth guy who just loves to play and talk about guitars. Thanks Joe for a very entertaining and informative 30 minutes. Can't wait for the next one.

Re: Joe's new adventure

Devastated to have missed this one as I had surgery to my back. I have the next month or so off work so hopefully I can pay more attention and catch some of these before they expire!
