Re: Three Kings

Thanks for the very descriptive revue Cathy. I'm sure that pin will be forthcoming.
A tip of the cap to Natasha for burning the midnight oil once again. I watched two but will hold off on any more so I'll be as thrilled as you were. I did the same for the Red Rocks show and it was worth the wait. Those back up singers are the icing on the cake, just as the harp add was at RR. Joe's classic Big Blues Band in the flesh!
I can hardly wait for the show to arrive on our literal doorstep, a 15 minute drive if you hit the lights with luck. It should be cooking with gas at that point.

Thank u Natasha for the quick uploads of this great kickoff show. (When do you sleep?)  From my view right behind you, I marveled how steady you hold the camera.  (And I felt for you every time I could see someone from your aisle getting up and heading your way for concessions / restrooms ... thankfully, not too many times.)

Nice to see you and Phil once again ... although u had to stand .. and talk through a chainlink fence. (I felt bad) smile  Cathy as well ... along with a new face to go with a Forum Username ... Amsterhammer (adding a Camden NJ stamp to his passport. ... asked him to post back up ... it's been a while.)

Indy ... was just asking the Usher "may I walk to the end of aisle #3 to say hi to someone?" ... when it was lights out!  I did make a visual after the show of someone in a light yellow button-down with light color checks ... salt / pepper hair ... but was hesitant to approach and say "Indy?" smile

Enjoy PNC tonight Natasha and all attending.  Maybe get the crowd going .... a nice Happy Birthday rendition for Mr. Anton Fig (#63).  8/8/52.  However ... maybe don't record and post.  I have always heard the H BDay song publishers are real sticklers for their royalties!! smile

"Salt/pepper hair"?  There is still a lot of auburn left I'll have you know!  HA!
Perhaps the next show in the area we'll have a chance to meet.

And thanking Natasha goes double for me you did a terrific job.  There were a lot of dudes with weak bladders moving all through the show.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Re: Three Kings

The absolute thrill of waking up to these videos...Natasha, thank you thank you thank you! Blasting through the whole house, I think the neighbors are getting a listen as well.
Can't say thank you enough! Love it!

Indy, I'm getting more S & P as the days wear on ... so definitely not throwing stones smile ... and I'm still hoping I'm not described as such quite yet either. big_smile ... with the S&P comes reduced 20/20 too!! ... so I may have "mistaken" my visual smile ... I should have said "Indy?" as you (?) walked by ... maybe wasn't you. smile

+1 on thanking Natasha once again ... she said she & Phil are hitting 5 of the 15 on this Tour ... East & West.  Always a great treat to see the "next day Uploads".  (And a thanks to Joe & Co for allowing them as well ... my opinion ... only increases his fan base ... and ticket sales.)

"I was in Space for less than 2 weeks … and suddenly Jeaniene’s back … half the Band is off the gd wagon … we have comedians opening for us … and the nice kid that ran our website is now a kleptof’nmaniac.  Boy ... did you guys miss me!!"  Phil Valentine - Road Manager - Staton House Band

Re: Three Kings

Just back from PNC and show was great. Setlist same as Camden with exception of intro videos, just audio. Not sure if they decided to change it up or if a PNC issue. Sadly lots of empty seats but those that were there seemed into it. Joe's playing is something to see and in my opinion he and the band did a great job honoring the 3 Kings. Just wish I could make it to the Cape, to see this show at the CCMT would be something. For those interested no 3 Kings merchandise tonight either, only had 2 shirts to choose from. For all those going to upcoming shows enjoy!!

Re: Three Kings

Really great show last night in Holmdel, NJ. Joe seemed more relaxed and was really getting into it and the band was on fire. Crowd was really excited also so no doubt Joe was feeding off that energy. We had a different vantage point tonight, the left side, so a great view of Joe's guitar and hands. Could also finally see Reese and had a nice view of Kirk when he was soloing. We ended up sitting right next to Bill Twomey and his brother. There must be some Joe magic going on sometimes wink Noticed later on facebook when Bill posted a photo that Joe had been wearing his red shoes. I'm bummed I didn't notice them, too many heads in my way down at that level and I was concentrating really hard on the guitars, lol. So glad we are seeing this show a couple of times. Since these songs were new to me it's great to have a chance to really absorb them and last night I was able to really pick up on their nuances. This show really is phenomenal. Anybody that can, needs to see it!

Re: Three Kings

I too was blown away at the PNC show. "Tribute" is definitely the right word for this tour. Joe has a way of turning a simple little blues song into an anthem.

I have a few pics and vids, but I'm on the road all day today. Here's a tease from my phone:

I had a hard time holding the camera still on this one!!

Hummingbird https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4kvqLieYhI
Between the vocals and Joe's guitar, this one made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. My camera battery died 5 seconds from the end..ugh!

I used a new mike and I think the sound came out pretty good. If the people in front of me could sit still for more that one song, the video would be better...jeez people, see a doctor about that drinking or peeing problem would ya?!

Gotta love the shoes!

Re: Three Kings

Thank you very much for enjoying us across the pond with that new 3 Kings material interpretated by Joe & his awesome band and lovely singers!!!
P.S. Cool seeing those Stuttgart Shoes traveling all around the globe #redshoesalwaysontherun

Re: Three Kings

Great videos almico! I had the same problem with people constantly getting up in front of me to get beer and go to the bathroom. People just can't sit still nowadays and I had someone behind me that wouldn't stop talking for the entire show. Why do these people bother coming. I just don't get it.

Re: Three Kings

To pay that kind of money and go through the effort needed to get tickets and show up just to have a loud conversation with someone and drink all night and therefore have to constantly pee!!!  Why???  It just doesn't make sense!

And now this little find...Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn, first number is Born Under a Bad Sign.

Thanks Natasha. You set the bar pretty high! I just love recording the shows from my vantage point so I have a memory I can relive any time I want. I can't believe the battery died with 5 seconds left of Hummingbird. It broke my heart. My bad for not changing batteries sooner. I had 4 of them for heavens sake!

I wonder if I will ever see a Joe show where they do not serve alcohol. I'd pay double.

Re: Three Kings

Natasha you have just made my first day back at work. My employers wouldn't agree but what a background for preparation to the new student year planning ( and noeone told me to turn it down either)!!!! cool

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Three Kings

Natasha, you are a real treasure hunter concerning the presentation of Joe's musical highlights. Thanks for constantly posting. We can rely on you... It's so much fun enjoying what you saw and heard. Thanks once again!!!

Re: Three Kings

Well,  this is a lot to take in but I think the most awesome thing is that Mahalia  Barnes is a backup singer.  Her voice is like honey and wish she was featured more.   The set list is totally not what I expected but Joe always finds songs I do not know or had forgotten.  Thanks to all for the videos and reviews.   Every time you think Joe can't top something he  just does it again.

Well Done Joe.  I hate the shows are not sell outs but  happy for those who get to see this epic show

Re: Three Kings

Thanks for all reviews. Very cool.
Also BIG Thanks to Natasha again.
What would I do without her Videos. I would be a poor JB Fan...
Too Perfect. As always.

By the way. Any statistics about the attendances? Heard about many empty seats.
O.K. Joe plays normally to 2000-5000 pleople. Now the amphitheatres which hold about approx. 20000.
Does nayone know how many people went to the single gigs? Red Rocks was again sold out with 9000.
The others?

Re: Three Kings

Just saw Joe last night at USANA SLC.  Was blown away!  Great show.  The horns, keyboard, drums, all fantatic.  And Joe was really on! I was surrounded by people hearing Joe for the first time.  I'd say he has picked up many new fans!
